ConsentFest 2012 was an incredible success! Thanks to everyone who supported us. ConsentFest 2013 will take place May 23, 24, and 25. In the meantime, keep an eye on this page for organizational updates and other events.

Thank-you to everyone that has come out to our events so far, ConsentFest and Slutwalk Saskatoon is going strong! Just a short recap of what has happened so far: The Slutwalk was a smaller group than last year (peaking around 100 people), but very responsive. We had a great kickoff by police chief Weighill renewing our connection with the department and our police escort was once again fabulous, closing off roads and keeping everyone safe. A big thank-you goes out to them. ...The video screening was small, but the movie was very informative and related to the intersectionality of rape culture that is one of our main focuses for this year. Thank-you very much to Cinema Politica for providing the film and for joining with us in our goals. The ConsentFest lectures were a bit of a growing experience for the team, but were also very positive. After a bit of a late start and a few last minute cancellations it became a very organic day with speakers speaking when they arrived, group wide conversations and lots of time for personal stories and experiences. Thank-you very much to all of our speakers for coming out and sharing your knowledge and expertise, we look forward to working with you all again. Today is our ConsentFest Family Day, and the forecast is looking good! We've got a great local line-up of bands, performers, activities and speakers starting at 11:00. Come on out to the River Landing Amphitheater and help to raise awareness and spread education on issues of sexual assault and victim blaming. Can't make it today? Stop by the after party at Diva's Private Club tonight starting at 8:00. The theme is "as sexy as I want to be" and it is going to be a great night! Hello, ConsentFest fans! Sorry we haven't talked directly to you much lately: we've had a lot on our place, with a smaller organizing team than last year, but thanks to everyone's hard work and dedication this event is coming together beautifully! A huge thank you to Wes Funk and the team at McNally Robinson Booksellers - Saskatoon for the great launch event last night. Wes read an excerpt from his novel Cherry Blossoms, coming out next month, and I'm sure everyone who heard ...it is even more excited to read it now! SlutWalk 2012 is on tomorrow, rain or shine. We are expecting nice weather, but even if we get a little wet, we'll be out marching in support of an end to sexual violence! A few of our team members will be at the rally point as early as 5:30 PM, with supplies to make signs if you didn't bring your own. We want to start gathering in earnest by 6:00, to be walking no later than 6:30. See you tomorrow!
