For consignment drop-offs we now require appointments for anything more than 20 items. Less than 20 items can be dropped off without an appointment. We are getting ready to re-open our doors! Tuesday May 19th we will be re-opening with new hours - 11:30am - 4:30pm Tuesdays-Saturdays. Happy International Women's Day! I feel compelled to share this picture today and share my story of what I have learned over the past 3 years about what it means to build each other up and empower other women. I have been graced with 4 of the most beautiful examples of women helping women and I don't know that I can ever repay them. So in turn I will go on for the rest of my life doing what they are doing for me....raising me up, empowering my dream, believing in me. I will t...ry to find a way to do this for other women/girls for the rest of my life. Here is my story.... Three years ago I had an idea to try my hand at business and started a part-time consignment store. Early into my venture I met a lovely woman named Diane who was retired and just like many of us, she has a love for fashion. What I didn't realize at the time, Diane has an even bigger passion of helping other women. One day, Diane comes to me and offers to volunteer her time in my shop so that it can be open one more day per week (I am employed in healthcare, the store was a side gig). I couldn't believe she wanted to work for free, but she did! Diane said to me "I would love to help a female entrepreneur, and I used to work in retail, it will be fun." OK I thought, this is amazing! Diane starts working Wednesdays. One day Diane says to me "I have a friend who would like to volunteer as well, she can also take a day." I was astonished to say the least. So I meet this second lady who is named Betty. Like Diane, Betty had worked in retail, had a love for fashion but really liked the idea of helping a female entrepreneur. Betty takes on Tuesdays! One day while I am telling my friend Lorraine about how amazing it was to have Diane and Betty, Lorraine says "I just retired and would love to help too, I can come on Saturdays." Absolutely floored that the universe keeps sending these women to me, all I can do is be grateful! Then...about 3 months later, a frequent customer of the store asks me "I am retiring in January, can I work here too?" Welcome Elizabeth! These 4 ladies have become mentors to me and the epitome of supporting women. Their legacy will live on in me forever! #forevergrateful See more
