One thing that has certainly changed for my family and business with the pandemic is how my time is allocated. Planning for large blocks of time has become much harder - the kids are more at home and they need a lot of attention. So instead of trying trying to fit it a full block of 2 or 3 hours of work in the middle of the day, I organize my work in smaller segments, 15 or 20 minutes long.... I can deal with pressing email responses, look after high-level issues for clients and often write half a post for future. Of course, I still need to sit down for 3 hours at a time and put my head down, but I find it is much easier to do between 4 am and 7 am, when the house is asleep. Or perhaps on the weekend, when our schedule is a bit more flexible. With a little practice, you can do that too! #startups #family #COVID-19

Accounting work = 25% of working with numbers + 75% of working with people I have seen how stressful it can be working in finance/accounting in a small company. Working from home must have added at least a couple more layers of difficulty to this.... Maybe banks are hard to reconcile, teams don't talk to each other, management doesn't share all information. Documents are lost. Other staff makes mistakes in a system you rely on. You name it, there could be plenty of challenges. It never hurts to get a fresh perspective on something you have been doing for a while. If: - you work in accounting/finance function - your company has less than 100 employees - you have any challenges in your daily routine you want to complain/chat about Then - let's chat. Here's my calendar for next two weeks, find a slot that works for you. https://buff.ly/3clukPC 100% confidential.

Different SaaS companies respond in various ways to the pandemic. Karbon HQ, practice management service I use, has reduced the minimum number of users per each plan. Some companies didn't respond at all. Read my take on what a startup company should consider for their tech-stack now and when the lock-down is over. Happy Friday to those without kids at home :)
