Sub pump installation with a battery back up with independent check valves is one of the best ways to have peace of mind, problem free and dry basement. The battery is charged when not in use and when there's a power outage the back up pump does the job. Highly recommended and one less thing to worry about!!

Urethane injections(for visible cracks) along with an exterior waterproofing membrane are the best solutions for a leaky foundation. Make sure to have a positive slope(grade) to avoid water accumulation around the foundation and a proper gutter installation to avoid future problems. Nothing better than a dry basement!!

Time to make sure those sub. pumps are working and your reservoirs are clean. Make sure any water evacuating from the the pump is far away from the foundation and above grade if not, below the frost line (4.5 feet) to avoid freezing in the winter!! Enjoy the warm weather!

So march is finally here and the milder temperatures are also here! For all of you with low pitch roofs and/or a lot of snow on them,I suggest breaking out those shovels and clearing all that snow off the roof. Under all that snow is ice creating a dam due to slowly melting snow and ice which will eventually creep up under your roof shingles and infiltrate into your home and cause some damage!! It's something that can be avoided and only take a little effort and time to save hundreds of dollar in the long run..a little prevention can go a long way! Just a little heads up before you all put those shovels away!
