COOK Conditioning 13.02.2021

We found our new spot!! Since moving to the north side we aren’t anywhere close to our usual 5k route and #glenora stairs. So now we hit an off leash dog park which has a couple sets of stairs I can play on. Legs are already shaking and finally Chuck seems just as tired as me after! #fitfam #yeg #yegfitness #dogpark #stairworkout #cardio #adaptingwell

We went on a lovely fall run this afternoon. I use the time clear my head blow off steam and even to plan things! It’s either that or a bottle of wine #fitfam #fitness #fitnessmotivation #fitnessjourney #edmonton #yeg #yegfitfam

What has 2020 been like for you so far? For me it started off with an extremely sad time for my family. So much so, I couldn’t handle it. I couldn’t swallow the harsh reality. Then COVID-19 hit and it felt like the world was ending. Then more chaos, murder hornets, wildfires, riots. I could go on and on but I won’t. I soon found my happy place once again and this year Chuck was by my side the whole way. Every damn day I made my way to that place and worked m...y ass off Sometimes I even carried Chuck so he didn’t get too run down. Stairs workouts, trx and HIIT workouts became routine. When I exercise it really helps me mentally. Gives me time to think, work things through, and feel more clear headed. As I started reflecting back on the year so far, I chose to acknowledge the things I was grateful for. The events of 2020 were always serious but I needed to switch perspectives for my sanity. Practicing gratitude was something I used to do; not sure why I stopped; but it’s truly so important and it really helped me! Some of my positives: 1. Found my way back to my happy place. 2. I spent 2-3 hours outside every day!!! Holy vitamin D 3. Reconnected with some old friends. 4. Made new friends. 5. Found a cute little house for Chuck and I! 6. Enrolled into a Digital Marketing Course to pass the lockdown time. 7. I got smaller instead of bigger during lockdown You get the idea! Comment below and tell me about some positives for you this year! Share the good vibes! #positivevibesonly #findthegood #begrateful #begracious #reflection #happyplace #fitfam #yeg #edmonton #choosejoy

Vulnerable post alert!! What is a healthy body, without a healthy mind? New challenge from @kaylor.betts complete ... Who would ever think to write out a to DON’T list?! I happen to be lucky enough I have huge mirrors to write on in my bedroom. First thing I see when I wake up and last thing before I close my eyes. Added to my brain spew gratitude mirror; at 5 this morning I began to create my To Don’t list. There’s so much more I can add but for now I’ll keep the focus smaller, and when a new habit or mindset becomes natural I can erase and add something new! Reminders, ideas, self love, and to do the damn dishes Nikki! I was inspired to create a To Do list after and it was all so similar! More reminders to be kind, love your damn self, healing and awareness. I’m seeing a pattern here... What would your To Don’t list look like?? If this resonates with you, I highly recommend you follow @mentalwealthproject @kaylor.betts For more thought provoking conversations, real talk, mental health and how to achieve mental wealth. Thanks Kaylor! #selfcare #selflove #youareworthy #mentalhealthisimportant #healthybodyhealthymind #growth #vulnerablepost #bewell #healthiswealth #fitfam #cookconditioning #personaltrainer #yogateacher

Lost a brother in blue. I didn’t know what I wanted to say, or how to say; so instead I’ll share my memories. I first met Trevor when I was in dispatch. He always took care of us bringing coffees etc. Eventually Trevor ended up in comms and we talked about workouts, his daughter, his passions...and more workout stuff. I even set him up on a date with one of my girlfriends because I knew he had a good heart. I moved on from EPS to pursue fitness/yoga and it was so fitting that... one day he and his wife Carmen joined the gym I was now employed at. We picked up right where we left off and those two were some of the hardest workers that I had the pleasure to train. Oddly this is where we bonded the most; me yelling at him to go heavier or to do one more rep! One night we chatted about why I left EPS and the struggles he was having. I recently remember seeing him ‘like’ one of my business posts and thinking; he’s always been a huge supporter of mine. Trev I am so sorry we didn’t keep more constant contact after I left. It was an honor to know you and I’m sorry I never made sure you knew how grateful I was. I wish many things, but mostly I wish for you to feel relieved from the pain and that you can rest easy now. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #endthestigma #rip #heartbroken #suicide #suicideprevention
