Cook's Bay Dental remains OPEN! Starting Monday, York Region will be shifting into the grey/lockdown stage. As per the guidelines from our governing body, The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, dental offices are permitted to remain open at this time. Your safety is, and always has been, our number one priority and we continue to take every necessary precaution during your visit to our office.

We hope you are all having an amazing weekend! We wanted to let you know that the office will be closed Monday June 29th in lieu of Canada Day We will reopen Tuesday June 30th at 10:00am.

Amid all the hard work and focus that we've had with re-opening safely it was great to know that people still enjoy a visit to our office. We had a lovely patient treat the team to a pizza lunch. It was so unexpected and very appreciated. What a great way to ease the tension of our first week back!

First week back and it feels so good to see everyone again!! Thank you to all our wonderful patients for you kindness and understanding during this time!!

We are really excited to hear that we can start planning for our return to work! There is still missing information from our College that we are awaiting, as well as some final office installations that we are working on to make sure our environment is safe for your return. Please watch out for email communications for when we can start taking bookings for appointments. Things will look a bit different initially (us, the office, maybe you?) but it will be good to be together again!!

As this new challenging time drags on it’s nice to focus on the things we can do to keep healthy and avoid unwanted emergency events. Hope you’re all safe and healthy!

Wishing all of our friends and patients a happy Passover, happy Easter and happy Spring!! This weekend is a great time to reach out to friends and loved ones by phone, FaceTime or ZOOM. Enjoy the company of a large group without all the hours of cooking and mountain of dishes! Plus, there’s a MUTE function (you can’t get that at a dinner party). We can’t wait to see you all again soon, though, even it it means all those dirty dishes.

Dear Cook’s Bay Dental Family, Late Sunday evening all dentists in Ontario received notification from our governing body, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, directing dental offices to refrain from providing all non-essential and elective procedures. All patients with scheduled appointments through the end of March will be contacted in a timely manner to reschedule. During this period we will still be able to see patients for emergency appointments. Should you ...experience pain, swelling or other emergent dental issues you can contact our office for an appointment with a dentist. The safety and health of our patients, our team and our community are of the utmost importance to us. Of course, as this situation evolves and updates become available to us, we will share all relevant information with you. We thank you for your understanding during this unusually challenging time. Update for our patients amid the evolving COVID-19 situation As members of the Ontario dental health professional community we have been very diligent in monitoring the current situation as it relates to COVID-19. Along with our standard universal precautions we have been increasing our disinfection efforts to common areas such as waiting rooms and reception. We have updated our posted notices to prevent patients with cold and flu-like symptoms from visiting the office. As a...lways, we have alcohol-based hand sanitizers and masks available throughout the office and reception areas Additionally, we have begun requesting that anyone booking an appointment who is experiencing any symptoms, who has travelled to a high-risk area or who may have been in contact with a person who may have contracted COVID-19 to reschedule in 2+ weeks time. When confirming appointments, a day or two in advance, we are revisiting these concerns again and rescheduling appointments when the risks dictate that it is necessary. For patients who enter our office and who are evaluated as having increased risk we will immediately provide them a mask, ask them to self-isolate and contact our local public health unit when deemed necessary. These precautions extend to members of our own healthcare team as well. As the situation evolves, we will continue to keep our patients informed.
