This week in our in-person rehearsals we are changing musical directions little bit and taking on the heartwarming classic song ‘That’s What Friends Are For’ by Dionne Warwick. There couldn’t be a better or more important time to be celebrating friendship in our beautiful Cool Choir community!

Tune into CTV Calgary tonight at 6pm for a report with Creative Director, Jamie Serafi on how Cool Choir is trying to navigate the frustrations of AHS imposing a seemingly unnecessary group singing ban at this time, despite eight weeks of SAFE in-person rehearsals already taking place.

Laughter in abundance this week as our annual Halloween week traditions took full flight at rehearsal! Our members dressed up in some incredible costumes and prizes were awarded! From ghosts to pirates to the Queen to...erm....Carol Baskin..and not to mention Jamie, our director’s crazy outfit at the piano! Happy Halloween everybody!

In line with the latest COVID-19 announcements, we are sad to have to let you know that the last two weeks of our Fall trimester in-person rehearsals are cancelled. Our Zoom sessions will be continuing online every Monday evening as normal until November 30th. Thank you to all of our members far and wide for your love and support during this time of uncertainty. Hold tight everybody, we will be back singing together again soon!

We had a 'spooky' themed rehearsal this week online for Halloween! Sooo much fun and just check out those costumes! Congrats to Margie, our very own 'Mona Lisa' for winning the prize for best costume! We're looking forward to seeing everyone's costume at our in-person rehearsals this week in Inglewood and Lincoln Park too!

UPDATE! We are temporarily suspending our Hillhurst location on a Monday evening until the new year! Our locations in Inglewood and Lincoln Park will be running as usual!

Just a reminder that we have no rehearsal tonight in Hillhurst Sunnyside for Thanksgiving folks! Enjoy some special family time together!

We are proud to be delivering exceptionally SAFE in-person rehearsals amid the pandemic, pratiSING all the below weekly - and more. Our members report regularly how "safe" they feel and how much they are enjoying singing together again. Bit by bit, our beautiful Cool Choir community is rising from the ashes. Nothing will stop us singing. It is now more than ever that we all need the arts - and we're proud to be one of the first choirs to move forward in the face of adversity, putting on THREE in-person rehearsals weekly. Come with us, trust in us and together, we'll go on singing...

Here is a photograph of our Lincoln Park rehearsal this week! Bethany Chapel holds 600 people. Our 50 person limit gets swallowed up here easily with so much social distance between. We are proud to be one of the only choirs in the city singing together again under strict protocols, allowing us to slowly and SAFELY rebuild our special Cool Choir community - a real lifeline for many in these extraordinary times!
