What is the benefit of playing catch? Catching is a skill set that requires hand-eye coordination, motor planning, balance, visual acuity, and depth perception. It is a helpful skill for children to encourage reciprocal play, turn-taking, and peer modeling. Catch can be as simple as rolling a ball between two people or as complicated as the professional baseball players do it! Both Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists can work on catching as part of an overall therapeutic plan for development. How do you like to play catch?

AAC stands for alternative and augmentative communication, and it means more than you may think! No matter if it replaces or enhances communication, AAC can include things as simple as body language, facial expression or gestures up to more complicated systems including switches, apps or devices. You SLP can help you to use the full spectrum of AAC to ensure you communicate everything you want say.
