Now that we know Swim and Dive are considered safe activities, the 2021 Winter Maintenance schedule is in process of being finalized. Registration instructions and link will be sent out in a few days. Aligning with the safety policies of the City of Coquitlam and BCSSA, the Coquitlam Sharks Club will unfortunately not be training Minis or Masters this Winter. Check our website for details relating to Try-Outs for NEW members and some Development swimmers. Please share this with friends who may be interested in joining the Sharks in our Winter program.

Great work Sharks community! Thank you for ensuring you are wearing your mask and social distancing at practices outside and inside the building.

BCSSA has suspended all Masters swimming across BC. BCSSA has also updated the safe distance policy between our athletes to 3 meters apart (instead of 2), while in the water. I do not see this as being an issue, but I would ask for patience from our swimmers as it will take more time for our coaches to relay instructions in the water. Except for these changes, our existing Covid-19 rules remain in effect.

Practices continue...for now. As many of you are aware there was a recent PHO order issued for the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health Regions. Part of this order puts strict restrictions on all indoor activities especially around those that could not maintain the 2 meter physical distancing. After communicating with the City of Coquitlam today and reviewing our Covid-19 Safety plan we will be continuing with our regularly scheduled swim practices. Key points to remember; maintain 2 meters of physical distance and masks are mandatory during activation and entering/exiting the pool. If anyone has any questions or concerns please reach out to [email protected]

With the rise in COVID-19 cases in BC we have made some very specific changes to our Return to Sport Plan. The following changes will take effect immediately. Athletes will bring their own mask to training. Masks are MANDATORY while waiting to enter pool facilities, during activation, while being pre-screened and when exiting the pool facilities. Athletes should have a mask on at all times aside from being in the pool. Coaches may remove masks when athletes are in the water.
