We've had several inquiries over the last few days relating to Covid 19 and closures. YES, we are still open. It was recently announced by the Chief Provincial Public Health Officer, Dr. Brent Roussin, that the Winnipeg Metro area has been moved to the Critical level (Red) on the provincial pandemic response system effective Monday November 2, 2020. As a result of this change, there have been many new restrictions put in place targeting those sectors that might be a potenti...al source of spread. These new restrictions DO NOT affect the delivery of dental care in private practice dental clinics. Since re-opening our clinic after the first lockdown, we have put in safety protocols to ensure we protect our team and our patients. COR-DENT DENTAL CENTRE IS OPEN FOR EMERGENCIES & URGENT DENTAL CARE We are now open to provide Emergency and Urgent dental treatment for new and existing patients. The Province of Manitoba guidelines and the recommendations of the Manitoba Dental Association have stressed the importance of a phased in approach to re-opening. This first phase only allows for Emergency and Urgent dental treatment and specific protocols for treating patients. We will not be providing dental c...leaning or routine dental treatment at this time. We have also implemented changes in order to protect the health and safety of both our staff and patients. These are changing times and we are doing our best to make sure we are prepared to provide dental care in the safest environment possible. Do Not Let Cavities Haunt You This Halloween! Although candy is inevitable this Halloween, it does not have to be scary for your child’s dental health. This is the perfect time to teach your little one how to avoid cavities. Here are some tips to enjoy all of the sweets without the cavities: Swish Away the Treats Encourage your child to swish with water after indulging in sugary treats. Choose treats that are consumed quickly and can be rinsed from the teeth with w...ater, such as chocolate treats (yum!). Make a Candy Plan Avoid all gummy or taffy treats that can stick in the pits and grooves of teeth, as well as, between the teeth. Avoid sour candy that has a higher acid content and can break down tooth enamel. Discuss how much candy you child is allowed to eat prior to partaking in their trick or treat festivities. Start a Switch Witch Tradition! Create a tradition where the switch witch visits your house and swaps you child’s candy for a toy, book, video or something on your child’s wish list.
