What better way to kick off the Holiday Season then to watch the Polar Express . Some of our past Nature Campers were treated to a movie and popcorn last Sunday evening at the Classic Theatre. As many of you know, we didn't get the opportunity to offer our Summer Nature Camp this year and we missed seeing all our little friends. We were happy to see so many familiar faces and hope we get to see them all again real soon Check out some of the pictures we captured during the event below.

The Corduroy Brook Beavers We want to pass along some information to our trail users regarding recent activity related to the beaver populations in the Corduroy Brook area. Each year, the CBEA makes an effort to help control the beaver populations in the area by working with a licensed trapper. This has been ongoing for as long as the trail has existed in the area near Conservation Place, approximately 20 years. The trapper is granted the license through the Provincial Wil...Continue reading

Our Corduroy Brook Family is devastated today with the loss of our new Picnic Shelter at Gibson's Field. We feel for the employees who put their heart and soul into the construction of this structure. We feel for the many trail users who enjoy using the shelter for a variety of reasons. We feel for the children, especially those who participate in our Summer Nature Camp Program, and who won't get the chance to use this beautiful new shelter for fun games, crafts and other a...ctivities. Sadly, this is the second time that our shelter has been burned in just 14 months. We are discussing how to appropriately and effectively put a reward out for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Stay tuned for that news very soon. We want to thank all first responders, especially the GFW Fire Dept for their immediate and professional response. If anyone has any information relevant to this incident please contact the RCMP, Crimestoppers or the Nature Centre. As always, we will persevere and rise above this despicable and heartbreaking act. Happy Trails To You!

edit: *UPDATE* (July 27th) We haven't seen any signs/sightings of the bear since it was brought to our attention last Wednesday. Us at Corduroy Brook have been going back to check the area, as well as the surrounding area. So, it was more than likely the bear was just passing through. It just came to our attention there were signs of a bear on our trail. The bear activity was seen near Scout Pond Trail. It was known that bears do pass by fairly quickly in this area. We just ...wanted to bring it to trail users attention. If you see any more sightings or signs please contact us. The association will be diligent with following up with the bear activity Please share to spread the word
