The Corduroy Enduro

Just got Al Sand's 1951 200cc James running . This bike was ridden in the Cord by HOF member Don Hadow in the 50s. Don broke the frame during the enduro and got it welded up by a farmer who lived along the route. The farmer insisted Don stay for a beer which took longer than the weld job. Don still finished with in his hour. The Sands family generously donated the James to the Corduroy when Al passed a few years ago. Unfortunately, Don has passed away this past year. The James will be on the starting line for the vintage ride at next years Cord. Hope to get my brother to or sister to ride it. Or maybe one of my daughters. Blair

Haliburton trail riders came out in force to repair a bridge that some had sawed through. We are stress testing the new beams we installed.

Spent what would have been the Corduroy weekend building trail and riding with the family. I dont think we have every all been on a ride together. Great time. Brand new test section for 2021.j

Brought back a lot of memories when I picked up my 125 can am. Thanks Grant Bond for restoring it.

2021 Corduroy is on Sept 24,25, and 26.

Unfortunately we will be cancelling the Corduroy this year. At this time we are still not allowed to use the Gooderham Community center so we cannot proceed with the uncertainty of whether the start area will be available or not.

Sad to say that Don Charters , who along with Ron Jackson started the Corduroy enduro in 1953, has passed away. At 96 years old Don was at the Cord last year to judge the vintage show bikes. Don was obviously an avid motorcyclist and rode bikes well into his 80's. Out scouting some new Cord trails on Mark's property when he showed me this! Next time I will have my bike and see if it is doable. New Pro section. This drainage ditch from a beaver pond is 100m long and a lot steeper than the picture makes it look. Lots of new land owners like Mark this year. So far 3 brand new tests. more to come.

Anyone lose a tool belt at the Cord last year. This isn't it, but if you can describe your lost pack to me then we can get it back to the rightful owner. The picture is of a tool belt Outlaw Dave Rhodes made fir me over 30 years ago. It has several ISDEs on it and a lot of km after that. Still going strong.

Isolating and scouting Cord trail on the Tojam ranch. Natural rock bridge will keep the trail out of the water.
