CORE Eye News 28.09.2020

CORE Alumni Highlight Name: Dr. Adam Keech Position at CORE/CCLR: MSc Graduate Student/Clinical Scientist (2008-2012) Current Role: Optometrist, Oakley Eyecare, Winnipeg MB... How did your time at CORE/CCLR influence your career? My time at CORE taught me how to dissect and digest published research, and translate that research into improving the care of my patients. Evidence-based medicine and clinical experience has lead to better patient outcomes and improved efficiency with my decision making. EBM also pushes me to continue to learn and strive to improve how I practice optometry. CORE also taught me the value of surrounding yourself with great people. Not only is CORE a world-class research centre with a team composed of the leading minds of optometry, it is filled with great people. The ongoing success of CORE is attributable to the wonderful researchers, administration and staff that have continued to drive it forward for 30 years. Likewise, in my professional life, I have prioritized working in a practice that has a great staff and have been fortunate to find that at Oakley Eyecare. I enjoy each and every day of "work" because of them, and it is the reason that I, and Oakley Eyecare, have been a success.
