Alumni Feature Friday This week's Alumni Feature is Forest Resources Technician & Fish and Wildlife Technician graduate, Cory Porter. Cory completed both programs in the three years he attended CNA, and now is working with the provincial government as a Conservation Officer 1 (Wildland Firefighter). This job has given Cory the opportunity to fight forest fires across Newfoundland, as well as in Alberta. Not only does this job entail fighting fires but also dealing with wild...life, silviculture, tree planting, and harvesting. Cory is currently accepted to UNBC where he plans to complete a degree in Fish and Wildlife Biology. Thanks to his credits with CNA, his 4 year degree will be cut nearly in half. Cory's words to all current and future students are: " I probably won't become a millionaire with the career that I have chosen, however this is not a career in which I will look back on in 20 years and wish I had done something different. This career is a thrill to work in, amazingly fun, and a constant adventure".
