Virtual Graduation 2020! https://cbrh.nlesd.ca/virtual-grad-2020
Hello Graduates, families and friends! Tomorrow morning at 9:30, CBRH will be posting the 2020 Virtual Graduation Ceremony. Access will be available on the school website, and a link will be posted here as well. You will be able to share the videos with friends and family near and far, and unlike past years, this year’s class can watch it over and over again! We hope you’ll find some time to sit back, relax, and enjoy. We also hope that you take some time to celebrate your achievements with family and friends, but we ask that you please do so safely. Congratulations everyone!
As a branch of the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada Student Committee, the Rural Outreach & Mentorship Initiative (ROMI) has been created with the goal of engaging high school students from rural or remote areas in Canada who are interested in learning more about medical school and careers in medicine, from the perspective of medical students. There are two aspects of this program (students can engage in one or both): 1) Monthly virtual group sessions offered by the... ROMI organizers (medical students) which will be focused on a variety of topics such as: the variety of paths to medical school, the process of applying to medical school, resume/study tips, various careers in healthcare, etc. 2) Monthly one-on-one virtual meetings (~30 minutes) with their mentor to discuss any questions they may have about the path to medical school, life as a medical student, career options in medicine, and anything else they would like to know regarding medical school and medicine in general. The program will be offered from now to the end of December 2020. We are hoping you will be able to help promote this program on behalf of the organizers of the ROMI. Attached are posters that we hope you can help disseminate. When sharing, we ask that you please include the following Google form link that will allow youth to sign up for this program: https://forms.gle/TVECr1j81ky6mY8E7 Interested students will be contacted via email by the ROMI organizers who will facilitate an introduction between the student and their mentor, and will provide details on monthly virtual group sessions. Thank you for your support!
