With not being able to enjoy some of the activities we're used to because of the pandemic, boredom can start to set in. This is our body's way of telling us something needs to change. There have been studies showing people prefer receiving electric shocks to being in a state of boredom. How can we combat boredom? Start something....anything. Read a weird-for-you book, start writing even if you've haven't wrote anything in awhile, make a random recipe, camp out in the living room for a night, make a TikTok video (whatever that is?????). This may take you out of your comfort zone, and that's ok, that's growth. So don't get bored, get creative! Welcome to another edition of Fitness Friday! We are done with the leg exercises, and moving on to some back movements. This exercise replicates rowing a boat and is called the Mid-Row. After some adjustments of the PINS to get everything in place- posture, slow & controlled, and breathing are all you have to concentrate on. Be Fit and Stay Well....and row, row, row your boat gently into the weekend!
Although we may feel like we're being a burden sometimes asking for help from those we trust, most times people are glad to help out! It makes them feel good, and you feel better. We can do so much more together, than trying to go it alone. It's a sign of strength to realize you need assistance, overcome the fear/ego, and reach out for that help. Well it's Wellness Wednesday again, and today's topic is food!! Not only is it important to select healthy foods, but the portion ratio also helps keep you satisfied and energized after each meal. Bring on the New Year!
Looking at the restrictions, fearing for the future, and becoming upset over the things we CAN'T do ignores the fact that there are still millions of things we CAN do. A testimony by one of our own friends at the gym shows this by her saying she might not be able to travel to see relatives, but she can cross-country ski, go to the gym, and meet a small group of friends for coffee, and is grateful for all those things! We can be pissed off about the CANT'S for sure, but we can also choose to focus more on the CANS in our individual lives (they'll all be different for everyone) to foster a positive mindset during these difficult times. https://restoringorder.com/rethink-turning-cants-into-cans/

Staying with lower body workouts on the G9S, after some explaination and fumbling of words, Damien displays the leg extension. This exercise is also on the circuit, but you can take this motion to the next level by increasing the weight to increase your strenght Take Care and have a great weekend! (It's called a "pin" by the way, that locks the arm in place haha)

With the Eve of New Years upon us, it is a time for celebration, which may or may not involve alcohol. Just remember alcohol is a poison and a depressant, so if you choose to drink, do so with awareness. And of course do not drive while impaired, and stop someone who may attempt to.
