Happy Halloween! Trick or treating may look different this year, but there's no doubt that a stash or two of candy will still find its way into your house. You know the drill about brushing or rinsing after a sugary treat - but did you know that not all sweets are created equal? To keep your boo-tiful smile, avoid lollipops and other hard candy that takes a long time to dissolve and sticky, chewy treats - such as gummies, caramel, taffy, candy corn, and bubble gum - that get stuck in your teeth. Your best option? (drumroll, please) ... Chocolate or sugar-free gum (which actually helps clean your teeth). See? We can be reasonable.

They may be the new kids on the block, but Dominique and Katie bring years of experience to their new roles at Cornerstone Dental. Dom is a local hygienist who took over for Sherene after she retired in July and also works at a practice in Ottawa. Fresh off her own maternity leave, Katie is standing in as assistant for new mom Candice, who will be home for the next while enjoying some glorious time with her baby boy. Welcome to the team Dom and Katie!

The Cornerstone family has gotten bigger (and even cuter) over the summer! Our intrepid assistant Candice and her husband became the proud parents of their first child Aiden Charles Donaldson on June 22nd at the Smiths Falls Hospital. Candice says her life has changed completely since the little dude arrived, weighing in at 7lbs 1oz, but she is loving every bit of it especially the newborn snuggles and having my heart grow with so much love. Enjoy your year off, Candice, and keep us posted on that first tooth!

We know Sherene will miss us (and we’ll miss her!), but this big smile at her retirement party says it all. Wishing her all the best in her well-earned R&R!

If you haven’t been in since we reopened in June, here’s a look at us rocking our snazzy new personal protective equipment! While we may look like a combination of Ghostbusters, astronauts, and nuclear plant workers, rest assured we’re still the same smiling faces under it all doing the utmost we can to protect your health and safety.
