What is person-centred language, and why is it so important? The language we use to describe dementia may perpetuate stigma. By being more conscious of the lang...uage we use, we can be more respectful, and perhaps improve the quality of life of people living with dementia and their families. Join us virtually (via Zoom) on Tuesday, September 22nd at 7:00PM for a lecture by Dr. Anthony J. Levinson on this important topic! Check out the full details here: https://www.alzhn.ca/getrude-cetinski-2020/

How long @ LCC: Ive been working at Lynwood Charlton Centre since May 19, 1987- a full 33 years! Tell us about your role: Im one of the Team Leaders with th...e Intensive Child and Family Services Program, a community based program that works with families and youth in their homes. I am also currently Chair of the FASD Resource Team for Hamilton. What do you like about your role? What I really like about my role is the diverse people I meet in Hamilton, from the youth and caregivers to so many other dedicated professionals at Lynwood Charlton and in the community. Its awesome to see the gains the families and youth make, the increased confidence to tackle some of the challenges they face, and the feeling of hope we at LCC help them rediscover. Favorite wellness/coping strategy: Hanging out with my wife walking our dog, enjoying a meal together, or watching a show. And long runs in the Dundas Valley trail system. See more
