Game on! Dear Parents and Players, We are pleased to announce that hockey is back and we can commence Phase 2 of hockey on Tuesday Feb 16th. We will move in the Orange Zone for two weeks as of Feb 16th and so there are some guidelines which we most follow to provide a safe environment for all involved.... As we transition towards a gradual reopening, it’s important to recognize that we are still in a pandemic and we must be vigilant to help reduce the spread and keep our communities safe. Your collaboration is essential to ensuring a safe return to sport and recreation. The health screening tool is the most important measure to help prevent the spread covid-19. Everyone (including players, coaches, volunteers, spectators when permitted) participating in any sport or activity must complete a COVID-19 screening prior to attending. Anyone who fails the screening must not attend the activity and must act on the recommendations provided (e.g. self-isolate, visit a COVID-19 Assessment Centre to be tested, self-monitor for symptoms, contact a primary care provider, etc.). Ensure that you are using the most recent and appropriate version of the screening tool: For children and youth, use the COVID-19 School and Child Care Screening Tool For adults, use the COVID-19 Self-assessment Tool We all want to enjoy the return to play, so let’s all do our part! Please be patient as our convenors work with their respective coaches to get everything in order and you will be contacted very soon to advise when your child will be back on the ice. As many of you are already aware and have seen the news that the Government of Ontario enacted a province wide Shutdown that will come into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Boxing Day. Therefore, as of now, the Benson Centre will be closed until January 23rd, 2021. As Phase 2 was initially scheduled to start on Sunday January 10th, this will now be moved to a new start date of Sunday January 24th, 2021. We are still hoping to provide the same amount of ice sessions for Phase 2 and... will provide any updates in the New Year when we all return from the holidays. Thanks for your understanding. On behalf of the CMHA executive board, we wish all our hockey families a safe and happy holidays! Thanks CMHA

Note : We have had a few members send in your etransfer to register your child for Phase 2 - however, there are a few in the past day or so that are sending the etransfer through their bank with no info in the description area to advise the CMHA who this is for?? Unfortunately, there are some we know, but some we don't. Therefore this means that your child may not be registered. If you have sent in an etransfer today without this info, please email [email protected] and advise and send in your child's registration form.

I would like to give a huge thumbs up and many thanks to the tireless work and effort that the many CMHA board members have given and continue to give presently to ensure the safe return to minor hockey activities for Phase 1. The tremendous amount of work that has been completed in approx 6 weeks, that normally gets completed in 4-5 months, is huge and could not have been done without the commitment that these members have given. Thanks CMHA President
