Cross contamination is a major concern in the cleaning industry. We have all heard horror stories about a janitor wiping a bathroom sink with the same towel they used to wipe the toilet. This is a dangerous health hazard and there is no excuse for this. Not only should this never happen, but if you follow the colour coded recommendations, you can prove to a client that it did not happen. It is important to make sure that you are not spreading germs from one surface onto anoth...er surface. The way to accomplish this is to ensure you are using the right chemical for the job and to use colour coded cleaning tools. From microfibre cloths to coloured mop buckets, to solution bottles to even putting coloured tape on a broom handle, whatever you need is attainable. In order to aid in reducing cross contamination while cleaning, it is mandatory to implement colour-coded cleaning systems. This means that tools for certain areas are colour-coded so there is no crossover of bacteria from one room/area to another while cleaning. For years we have had our own colour coding system for this. The coding system shown above is the new industry standard, and effective immediately, this is the system adopted by Corporate Cleaning Services Ltd. Supervisors will be checking janitor rooms to ensure you are following the new system and to make sure you and your customers are safe. Colours are easily identifiable, so by sticking to this colour-coded cleaning regimen, the risk of cross-contamination is drastically lowered. We all need to do our part to ensure a healthy environment for all users and occupants.

The results of our annual Christmas charity donation program are in and this is how our customers voted: 41.3% voted for the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper Society 32.6% voted for Paws for Hope 26% voted for Elizabeth Wildlife Center... Each of these worthy charities will receive their portion of the $1,000.00. Thank you to all who helped us decide how to donate our money this year!
