Ca’ Brusà Menico DOCG 2015 BAROLO, 100% Nebbiolo grapes that are cared for and handpicked on the farm’s own fields near Monforte d’Alba in northwestern Italy. 13,5% Piedmont Region. Distinguished by its strong tannins, high acidity and distinctive scent. Maturing in small oak barrels for 15 months, followed by 10 months in 25-hl casks and a year in the bottle prior to its release. Bright, intense garnet red, with slight orangery undertones. The wine in the glass is beautiful ...and light grenade red with light orange tones from time to time. The taste experience is pure and intense, the flavours are rich and evolving with lovely tones of plums, cinnamon, violet, cherry and licorice.. The wine has a full body with amazingly released aromas and a persistent comfortable aftertaste. Ca’ Brusà Vigna D’Vai Riserva 10 Anni DOCG 2008 BAROLO 100% Nebbiolo grapes that are cared for and handpicked on the farm’s own fields near Monforte d’Alba in northwestern Italy. 14,5% Piedmont Region. The pure-bred Nebbiolo from a single layer is matured for about 24 months in barriques, then for 10 months in large oak barrels. The Riserva matures again for a few years in the bottle before it goes on the market. In the gla...ss, color is a nice ruby red with bright edge. The stained glass windows show the 14.5 volume. The bouquet features warm autumn notes of hay, forest and undergrowth, dried flowers, ripe plums, spicy notes, a hint of cocoa, chocolate and mint notes. On the palate beautiful Nebbiolo fruit, quite dry, again with the aromas of the bouquet. The tannins are fine-grained, slightly astringent. Over time, the wood is quite pronounced again. The farm house Franco Roero, whose vineyards extend for 15 hectares, is located just outside Montegrosso d’Asti, between Agliano and Costigliole d’Asti, one of the most evocative and appreciated place for the Barbera production. Here there is a unique terroir, a soil full of clay, limestone, sand and micro elements which make the Barbera sublime. Ruby red color with intense aubergine purple reflections; an initial impact of inviting hints of pink pepper and nutmeg followed b...y a persistent aroma of dog rose and hawthorn; wild strawberries and cherries soaked in alcohol give a great kick to the aroma. Clear hints of coffee, toasting and a touch of graphite. The high alcohol content and the acidity typical of the variety of grapevine are offset by elegant tannins and hints of dark chocolate jams.
