When it's hot and dry... out comes the big hose!

Garlic scapes. Flower buds have been removed. Blanche for 2 mins in boiling water, then cool immediately in icy cold water, drip dry a bit, transfer to baking sheets and put them in the freezer. Then bag them up in freezer bags and you've got yourself some garlic that's ready to go on demand. Once again...the beauty of scapes is that there's no peeling involved.
$6 per pound. Freshly picked and pesticide free. These were picked from various gourmet hard neck garlic varieties (Chesnock Red, Italian Purple, Romanian Red, Legacy, Persian Star, Russian Red and Spanish Roja)... What to do with them: Garlic scape hummus, pesto, scape compound butter, stir fried, grilled solo, or just add them to any meal that you’d normally put garlic in without the need for peeling. Can be frozen for use at a later date. Pick up in Niverville.
