Andrea Alexander: Moving Forward 19.01.2021

Good Afternoon Membership and Community, I would like to provide an update on my work with the WFN Youth Council. I joined the Youth Council at their strategic planning session as well as the dipping of the hand-carved canoe into Spotted Lake. Thank you to all involved in this. I really enjoyed my time co-facilitating the strategic planning session and am super impressed with our young leaders and their ability to work as a team and get things done. I am excited for them to ...share their new strategic priorities at the December General Membership Meeting. I have always had a passion for working with the youth and enjoy getting to spend time with the youth council. I would like to wish a warm welcome the new members Alyssa and Phoenix. It was an honour and to witness and be apart of the blessing of the hand carved canoe. The moment was truly amazing and a great opportunity to celebrate our culture. To read more about it, visit this link - https://indiginews.com//canoe-culture-westbank-first-natio With that being said, I look forward to another quarter and feel free to reach out to me via email or phone if you have any questions or comments. Stay safe out there ~ Andrea Alexander

5 years have passed since my grandma Laura Alexander left this world. I miss her contagious laugh and humour. Today, and always, I am thankful for her teachings and the strength she instilled in me. I know that she is cheering me on, and is proud of the person I am today. Thank you grandma for teaching me to always speak the truth and use my voice to make a difference. I will continue to honor her memory by leading in an honest manner.... limlmt Andrea Alexander

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe as the world around up starts to open up again. As we continue our operations at WFN we are following social distancing measures and health and safety protocols.... With that being said, here is a picture from this weeks Chief Black Bear Committee Zoom meeting. For those that do not know I co-chair the committee and councilor Coble chairs the committee. I hope everyone has a great weekend celebrating all the dad’s out there. But most importantly, celebrate being Indigenous. Happy Fathers Day and Happy Indigenous Peoples Day, in advance Andrea
