The Ioco Townsite stands as one of few surviving early company towns in the Lower Mainland. It is a distinct district with special heritage value to the City of Port Moody, and has been identified for long-term protection for heritage conservation purposes. When creating the Heritage Conservation Area for Ioco Townsite back in the early 2000’s I had hoped that we would have made some inroads by now. A range of incentives will be considered by the City, and may be utilized to facilitate the retention and rehabilitation of heritage properties by ensuring financial viability. What kind of incentives does the community envision for the Ioco Townsite? What is the community’s vision? Let’s talk about it!
