A few weeks back our council voted unanimously to join the effort seeking help for cities due to COVID. At the time I believe about 40 cities in the nation were lobbying with motions like this. This week the federal and provincial governments delivered. This will help our shortfalls a lot. Our local Health Unit has indicated masks are being mandated as of July 24th. I know we have different levels of concern and different beliefs. A little different than last year, but it's open...

North Bay Council is waiving all fees associated with the creation of new or expanded outdoor patio spaces to help support local businesses as they prepare to reopen amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The existing Sidewalk Patio Program in the Downtown is also being expanded from just restaurants to support the use of sidewalks for outdoor retail space.

**FIRE BAN LIFTED JUST IN TIME FOR LONG WEEKEND** The City of North Bay will lift the fire ban as of midnight tonight. Please follow all COVID-19 protocols, no visitors and no gatherings. Please see details below: The lifting of the Provincial Fire Ban means that residents of the City will be free to burn so long as they have obtained a legal permit and adhere to all of the terms outlined in the permit. Any permits from 2019 that have expired are considered valid until the cu...stomer service centre at City Hall reopens. When the customer service centre reopens homeowners will be expected to obtain a permit for 2020. If you are going to enjoy a fire please remember to follow current social distancing requirements.
