There will be no Street Checks or knocks on your front door! That said, please Stay Home. According to the memo, the new measures do not allow police to enter any dwellings or give them the authority to stop a vehicle solely to check compliance with the stay-at-home order. As of Thursday, the province’s stay-at-home order permits Ontarians to only leave the house for essential reasons, which include going to the grocery store or pharmacy, attending a health care appointment,... work, or getting exercise outside. In addition, individuals are not compelled to explain why they are out of their residence, states the memo, which notes that being outside should not automatically be considered evidence of a failure to comply with the stay at home order. The document also notes that workers do not have to provide proof from their employer that they are travelling to or from their workplace.

Happy Kwanzaa, a weeklong celebration created to honor the ancestral heritage shared by African-Americans. Observed from December 26 to January 1 each year, Kwanzaa was created in 1966, by a civil right activist, as a way to give Black people an opportunity to celebrate themselves and history, by uniting in meditation and study around African traditions around principles. #Kwanzaa2020 #africanheritage

Merry Christmas. 2020 has been a year of oddities, but because we lived through it we learned to value and appreciate time with family and friends, a meal at a restaurant; and recognized the value of front line workers in Health Care and a number of other industries were the jobs have been considered as entry level. May the 2021 bring great prosperity and a renewed commitment to what matters most

To all my friends of Jewish Faith, Happy Hanukkah. 2020 has presented changes and challenges on how you celebrate the festival of lights, the time spent with family whether in your personal bubble or virtually is always time well spent. HAPPY #hanukkah2020

Our democracy is fragile, our freedoms are often taken for granted but when we truly understand the sacrifices made by the young men and women who fought for the freedoms we have then will we truly understand the importance of not forgetting. #lestweforget2020 #freedom #remembranceday

City police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Trent University student last seen late Tuesday night on campus. Brett Leblanc, 24, is legally blind and wears dark glasses, police say. He is able to walk without assistance. Lebanc is white, 5’10, about 169 pounds, with brown medium-length hair and a thin moustache. He was wearing white high-top sneakers.

Happy thanks giving. 2020 has been an extremely difficult year, but I am sure there is so much we can be thankful for; like, all the frontline workers in health care, grocery store employees and the many others that kept working to ensure we have some degree of normality in a not so normal year.

Sobriety, addiction, and stress are difficult bed mates. The relapse and overdose rate has increased by 30% since March 2020. Mental health issues related to our lockdown and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression. Crisis service Canada has a 24 hour helpline: 833-456-4566. Please copy and repost to share the helpline far and wide
