Who remembers Scotch Shortbread? 2 cups butter 1 cup sugar 5 cups flour... Cream butter and sugar. Add flour 1 cup at a time and mix thoroughly each time. Press into cookie sheet and prick top with fork. Bake at 275 degrees or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with sugar while hot and cut when cool. A cherished holiday tradition!

Who wants to make some old fashioned popcorn balls? 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup corn syrup 4 tbsp butter... 1/3 cup water 1 tsp vanilla Mix together and stir on low heat until sugar is dissolved. Continue to cool until soft crack stage (270 degrees). Add 8 cups cooked popcorn, cool a bit, grease hands and form. Yummy! See more

Don't tell anyone but this is my recipe for Nanaimo Bars that I've made since I was a kid. 1/2 cup butter 1/4 cup white sugar 5 tbsp. Cocoa ... 1 tsp. Vanilla 1 egg Cook on low heat stirring constantly. Add 2 cups Graham wafer crumbs, 1/2 cup walnuts and 1 cup coconut. Pack into 9" pan. Combine and spread 1/4 cup butter, 2 tbsp. vanilla custard powder, 3 tbsp milk and 2 cups icing sugar. Refrigerate for 15 min. Melt 1 bag of chocolate chips and 1 tbsp butter and spread on top. So delicious! Thank you Nanaimo, BC for making this treat a must have for the holidays for many years!
