I got pantsed by a doodle once when I was grooming at a vet clinic. The vet walked in as I was pulling my pants back up and slowly backed out with his hands in the air, muttering "I don't wanna know".

As of December 26th, we are entering a Provincial wide lockdown. Country Dog House will be closed until we are given the go-ahead to reopen. Stay safe and kiss your pets.

WHEN I AM OLD. When I am old... I will wear soft gray sweatshirts... and a bandana over my silver hair...... and I will spend my pension cheques on my dogs. I will sit in my house on my well-worn chair and listen to my dogs' breathing. I will sneak out in the middle of a warm summer night and take my dogs for a run, if my old bones will allow... When people come to call, I will smile and nod as I show them my dogs... and talk of them and about them... ...the ones so beloved of the past and the ones so beloved of today... I will still work hard cleaning after them, mopping and feeding them and whispering their names in a soft loving way. I will wear the gleaming sweat on my throat, like a jewel, and I will be an embarrassment to all... especially my family... who have not yet found the peace in being free to have dogs as your best friends... These friends who always wait, at any hour, for your footfall... and eagerly jump to their feet out of a sound sleep, to greet you as if you are a God, with warm eyes full of adoring love and hope that you will always stay, I'll hug their big strong necks... I'll kiss their dear sweet heads... and whisper in their very special company.... I look in the mirror... and see I am getting old.... this is the kind of person I am... and have always been. Loving dogs is easy, they are part of me. Please accept me for who I am. My dogs appreciate my presence in their lives... they love my presence in their lives... Hey friends and furry friends We are back. We are asking our clients to call 705 431 4050 rather than messaging on Facebook and book appointments as we need to discuss details and go over the protocol. We appreciate your patience and understanding as it is extremely busy and we don't always see notifications or messages on Facebook.

We are so happy to be back and among our furried friends. Please call to book appointments as we are not allowing any walk-in services at this time. Any walk-in services, such as nail trims, will be booked by appointment only as we are screening everyone over the phone and giving our little speech regarding protocol.

Ford announced yesterday that grooming salons can reopen on Tuesday May 19th. We have been compiling a list of all those who have reached out wanting appointments and we are making our way through that list. It is long. Taking precedence will be pets who had their appointments cancelled due to the COVID shutdown, those who are severely matted, or very senior and/or disabled. Thank you so much for your patience. If I haven't already called you, please know I will be calling to book you in shortly. YAY!!
