Brownie update: Long update ..So brownie and I went in to farm vet this morning at 8am. I have to say the vets there were amazing!!!! I had three different vets take a look at him, he had an ultrasound and it looks to be a bad abscess in between his penis and umbilical cord area (possibly up to bladder), in addition to a potential problem with his urethra not being connected properly.. so they took him to the back and drained and flushed the abscess and with all the swelling ...he needs time to heal. They gave him pain meds, antibiotics and some antibiotics to take home. He will need another shot of antibiotics in 4 days and some vitamin E shots for us to administer to all our babes. I was informed that the soil in our area is extremely deficient in selenium.. which means hay, grain, grass all lack it. Vitamin E gives babes a good start to their lives and can help give them a leg up. I learned so much! We have fingers crossed for his recovery but will not know until antibiotics have time to kick in and he has time to heal! Thanks everyone for all the support and well wishes! See more

Also wondering about some feed back ... had a lot of people saying we should do Instagram ..how many of you follow Instagram ?? If so would you follow us ? We have been debating about doing a family / farm blog for awhile but it’s so much work to set up .. heard Instagram was great and easy for that kind of stuff. Farm stuff, family stuff.. real life ventures, adventures, subventures (the dark side of it all lol ) let us know what you think !

After a scary few days with brownie .. who had suddenly refused to eat and lost a bunch of weight .. he’s now back in the house and out of the barn ( we think the others were picking on him pretty bad ).. and happy to say slowly eating again .. we have high hopes ... he’s going to be going into his own enclosure outside and not back with the other goats ( that is once he’s out of the house )... just until he’s bigger and can hold his own with the others ..if he can pull through he will become our third dog / goat as he thinks he’s a dog for sure Paityn and I also released a snail, slug, and bumble bee back outside that we found in the lid of one of our bee hives and seeded 150 Marigolds today for our bees and garden !! Rainy days !
