Country House Doodles 17.09.2020

As usual, I forgot to send pictures. The first five are of Lusha and the last two are of Meisha.

Country House Doodles 15.09.2020

With much regret and considerable pain, we are selling Lu and Meisha as we close down our breeding program. Both girls are so sweet and loving. Meisha especially is very loving to our 2 year old granddaughter. Gentle and kind both girls love to run the back lane and play ball. They love playing in their pool in the big kennel and of course love to be cuddled. Both girls love people and get along with other dogs. Both girls come from long lines of prestigious championship Eu...ropean lines. Both girls are completely health certified including the OFA yearly eye certification, are up to date on their vaccinations and will be spayed before leaving us. Lu has recently turned four. She has good hips rated by OFA Lu comes from Ashbury, Dewmist, Erinderry and the famous Robin Hood of Glen Sheallag. Meisha is 3. She has excellent hips rated by OFA. She too has Erinderry and Dewmist blood lines I am looking for families that will include the girls in their home, have a place where they can run and play and experience the freedom of space. These girls were purchased at $12,000 and $16,000 respectively. I am offering these trained girls for $3,500 but only to the right home. Please PM me you are interested in opening your home to our sweet babies.

It has been a tough week. Saying goodbye to the babies is always so hard. We spend so much time with them watching over them 24/7 for 4 weeks before they move to the nursery and then so many hours of playing and teaching them some basic obedience that we know each pup's little personalities. It always surprises us when the families come to choose the pups as we figure certain puppies will be chosen first but end up near the end of choosing pack. This time around there were tw...Continue reading

Country House Doodles 24.08.2020

If we thought we were busy before, we have just turned up the heat! We have introduced the pups to the great outdoors which they LOVE! Lying flat out in the grass and then rolling around brings them such pleasure! We are working one on one with the puppies teaching them to come when we call. This is a huge lesson for them because there are so many interesting things to look at in great outdoors. :) When the pups come we ask them to sit. While they have not mastered this skil...l yet, they are very quickly catching on. Treats really help. Even at this young age they realize cookies are yummy so they will sit to get one. Today's pictures are obviously taken outside. I thought you might enjoy catching a glimpse of their training. I honestly don't know how you are going to choose a puppy. I can't. I hold them and whisper to them that I want them but when I put them down to pick up another pup I whisper the same thing! The choosing is going to be sooo hard! Baby Black: He is the biggest boy weighing at 11.86 pounds. While he is big, he is a softie. He loves to be loved, but he also loves to play with the toys.... grabbing them and shaking them to death or wrestling with another puppy. Baby Yellow: Such a sweet little girl. She weighs 9.90 and I'm sure all of it is sugar and spice. She loves to play and have fun just as much as she craves cuddles. Baby Green: This boy weighs 9.52 and is a gorgeous pup. Just like the others he is sweet but with a bit of feisty fun added in. These pictures don't show it, but Baby Green has retained his beautiful red coat. Baby Blue: So very much like Baby Black. He weighs 10.96 so he's no shrinking violet. Playful and confident like Black he likes to be cuddled as well. Baby Orange: She is our petite one. Orange weighs in at 6.62. No, she is not a runt. She has more of True's genetic background so she will always be on the smaller side. Truly she is a gentle soul who loves to be cuddled. We are so proud of her as she has worked on her confidence level and is keeping up with her more adventurous siblings. Baby Red" Red is the biggest girl of the three weighing in at 10.30. Red has a beautiful face and temperament. Confident but loving, she is a beauty. Baby Brown: This boy has caught up to his brothers and is challenging Black for the title of biggest boy. He now weighs 11.68. Full of life, he loves new adventures and challenges. Here he is playing with Eva. When Eva left he marched over to where I had locked up Maisie and True so we could do some training with the pups. Brown is full of confidence never thinking for a moment he might not be well received. Lucky for him Auntie Maisie loves the puppies!

Five weeks old already! They have their first vet check and vaccinations on Friday at which time I will microchip my little rascals. Did I say rascals? Yes, they are playing with their toys, wrestling with each other, trying out their barking and growling which usually ends up in a squeak. They know and practice pooping in their litter box but there are a few who still take a quick pee on the playroom floor. Their little personalities are begin to blossom as they explore the...Continue reading

Country House Doodles 01.08.2020

Missed a week of photos; some of you are in serious withdrawal. Sorry about that. Life is just so incredibly busy in the nursery right now and if you should happen to want to add any personal living issues into the mix life becomes impossible! One week brings incredible change. When we were away out west visiting wee Gwen in the winter we kept remarking on how much Eva had changed while we were away. Babies and toddlers develop so quickly even if the sleepless nights seem to ...pile up unendingly. Fast track for puppies by about 100 %. This week they are in their nursery where they learned to poop in their litter box...immediately. Imagine toilet training a child and they got it instantly! We have been coaching them to follow us over to the playroom which has taken a bit more energy but Baby Black and Baby Brown are almost there with Baby Red close behind. Maybe it's because they know their food is over there and they are hungry. Yes, did you catch that? They are now slurping up baby mush. Sounds delicious does it not? Baby mush consists of softened kibble with warm water added. This morning the pups almost ate the whole dish, so we are making progress. The best part is when they stop eating to quickly make their way to their litter box where they do their business. It is truly amazing how quickly they have caught on. However, not all of them realize they need to make a quick trip to pee in their box rather than squat where they stand. Today they began to play with their toys. It is adorable to see a puppy walk around with a small stuffie in their mouth, Baby wrestling has also been taking place. This game consists of one baby taking another baby's head into their mouth and gently chew. Somebody was not so kind to Baby Yellow this morning. We heard a painful cry and saw her scramble to her feet. I think someone chewed too hard on her sensitive ear. These are super cuddly babies and seem to be very chill. We are so in love with these wee ones. When they fall asleep on your knee you feel like you could sit there all day! Here are their pictures taken today. They are now 4 and a half weeks old. Baby Red ~ First four pictures ~ Female Biggest female puppy Very smart and sweet Darker coat than this is showing Baby Blue ~ Still the second biggest male pup. He is just one big baby...soft and sweet and loves to be cuddled. Baby Orange ~ the smallest pup of all. She will always be smaller. She was slower to walk but now is busy exploring the playroom. We have to remind her to eat before playing! Baby Yellow ~ the second biggest female. Such a soft, sweet pup. Baby Green ~ dark red in colour~ gorgeous looking pup. Another sweet soul. Baby Black~ weighs in as the biggest male puppy. Very chill and sweet. Baby Brown ~ male pup Baby Brown is determined to get all the cuddles. If someone else is getting a love, he quickly makes his way over to be included! Today he discovered stuffies for the first time. (last four pictures)

3 weeks old this Saturday. What were they up to this week? Well, they learned to support their bodies on their sturdy wee legs and are now up on their feet and toddling about. They are sleeping on their backs and as Eva delightedly squeals, "Look at their wee tummies!" they are developing some really cute sleeping habits. I can feel the hint of teeth coming in, so poor Meisha is going to begin to suffer some painful nursing sessions which means she will want out of the whelp...ing box more and more and beg me not to lock her in with her hungry hoard. Pictures 1 and 2 are Baby Black ~ male. Biggest puppy Look at the gorgeous wave and curl that is beginning to appear. Pictures 3 and 4 are Baby Blue ~ male. He is the next biggest pup. He too is developing some beautiful wave to his coat. I am laughing at picture 5. This is baby Brown ~ male who happens to be my assistant's favourite pup. Calm and easy going already, but notice she only took one photo and you can barely see him. She knows she can't keep him...but... Pictures 6 and 7 are Baby Green ~ male. He is a beautiful dark red colour. These pictures do not show off his gorgeous colouring. Pictures 8 and 9 are Baby Orange. She is the smallest pup of the litter. Petite and very feminine. Baby Red is picture 10 and 11. She is a big girl. Beautiful pup. Pictures 12 and 13 are Baby Yellow. Another beautiful girl. This coming week will bring huge changes as the pups will become more proficient in walking and begin to try some puppy mush which will help take some of the responsibility of feeding from their mommy. At the end of next week we will move the pups over to their nursery where they will have more room to play. They will begin to learn to follow our voices as we move them from their nursery to the play room and back again to their nursery. House training will also begin so our lives will become much busier. Wishing all of you a very blessed Easter. May the gift of the cross fill your lives with joy.

Country House Doodles 28.06.2020

A week and a half old and their eyes are beginning to open. Meisha is doing such a great job as a mommy. The pups are content and becoming little chunkers. If you think they are cute in these pictures, well, you just need to see them in person...they are killer cute! Notice the curl that is beginning to develop and if you look closely you can see some of their eyes are beginning to open. Baby Blue: Pictures 1,2 Baby Orange (female, smallest pup): 3,4 Baby Red (female): 5,6 ... Baby Brown: 7,8, Baby Yellow (female): 9, 10, 11, Baby Black: 12, 13, 14 Baby Green: 15, 16, 17 See more

Years ago when I was around 9 or 10 my father decided he wanted a pony. I think he thought I wanted a pony, which I did not. Anyway, he brought the wretched thing home in the back of our station wagon. I'm not sure who was more surprised, our mother, or our neigbours, or we his children. Dad had bought this pony because the man who owned it could no longer afford to look after it. He told my Dad that to make matters worse, it was pregnant. Well, that pony was made snug in our... small barn. Every morning I was to get up and feed and water Bridget. Only problem was....she was horrible to me. When Dad was around she was the perfect pony, but the second he was out of sight she would take every opportunity to bite or kick me. Safe to say I was not in love with this station wagon surprise. Dad poured a lot of money into Bridget to make sure she was healthy during her pregnancy. Due date came and no baby. A couple of days went by and still nothing but Bridget was enormous. In came the vet who declared Miss Bridget was not pregnant. This horrible creature had a false pregnancy. Yesterday, I had a similar experience only this time it was with Lu, my beloved Golden Retriever. When we bred her, 3 times, she had 3 excellent ties. For over 40 minutes magic occurred between Lu and True, so of course we assumed she was pregnant. We fed her a pregnancy diet, and she was getting fat. However, her due date came and nothing. She wasn't really acting like she was going to deliver. I became very suspicious, so with a lot of fuss, Lu hates cars and it took Dave's strong arms to lift her into the car, I headed to the vet for an ultrasound. Back came our ever happy girl, tail wagging, face declaring she had enjoyed her adventure. The assistant broke the news. No puppies. I had weighed her before she went in. Lu has put on almost 20 pounds!!! While this was a terrible shock and disappointment we are thankful for our 7 beautiful and healthy pups from Meisha. What this means is we have no puppies to offer anyone. All 7 pups are spoken for. In life there are highs and lows, struggles and victories, excitement and sheer slugging, dreams and reality. All have their place in our life. Without the struggle the victory is not as exhilarating. Without dreams our reality can crush our soul. The highs help us weather the lows and all of it helps to create the beautiful person we can be. Having only 7 puppies means the work load won't be so odious, too exhausting. It means that we get to spend even more time with our precious pups and hopefully be able to do more training with them before they go home. For those who were hoping to have one of our pups, I am so sorry. We were fooled...but Lu sure enjoyed the VIP treatment! Now she is on a strict diet. Ouch!

And so it begins...two little ones have arrived! Meisha's litter is looking good.

Country House Doodles 16.05.2020

Update: it is 5:09 a.m. and Meisha is nesting like crazy. She is busy scratching away at her floor. I can't give her blankets yet, because she chews all blankets, towels, anything soft and comfy. However, this nesting activity means pups are not far off. This whole process of birthing is such an incredible miracle!

Country House Doodles 08.05.2020

Moms are inside as we wait for pups to arrive. Lu has an enormous appetite and is ready to eat all the time. Meisha, on the other hand, won't eat at all. Even though she is due 3-4 days after Lu, I think she will deliver her pups first. Her temperature has fallen, she's not eating and is content to just lie on the floor of the whelping box. Lu, is eating us out of house and home, has tons of energy and complains any time I am in the kitchen. It will be a race to the finish wi...th these girls. I am just so hoping they don't deliver on the same night! Stay tuned because it won't be long now. Eva keeps asking to go to Gramma's house to see the puppies. I have to explain they aren't here yet. She will be so excited when they arrive. Since the girls are over here, poor Sam is all alone in the kennel. He is so incredibly lonely. How I wish he could find a wonderful home where he would be loved and spoiled. He is such a soft, tender-hearted boy.

Country House Doodles 26.04.2020

I have found two individuals who will be working with me to raise the coming litters, but...I need someone who could come in at 3 or 3:30 until chores are done each night and who could work weekends...especially Sundays. Please message me if interested. Must drive, be a hard worker, meticulous, able to follow instructions and work on their own. Pups arrive the end of the month but this job won't begin for at least 3 1/2 weeks after delivery but will continue until all pups are sold.

This morning our neighbour to our left called to warn me. There in their backyard stood 4 big coyotes. Thankfully farmers keep shot guns for moments like these. Her husband ran for his gun... shot at one...not sure if he hit the animal or not as it darted across the road to his parent's farm, but the other three ran to the back of our woods. I am not a hunter. I love animals and find it very difficult to understand why someone would want to hunt, but over the years I have com...Continue reading

Can anyone help me? I have a customer who wrote to me about wanting a puppy for their family of 4 but when I responded to her email it came back to me that her account would not accept emails. How do I contact her? If that is you and your name is Cathy T, would you please contact me through here or a different email address...unless someone out there can tell me how to email her back.

Life. Life is just full of unexpected twists and turns. This morning our faithful, hard working, trustworthy kennel assistant has had to step away from working with us for personal/family reasons. She has made the right decision for her family, but we are going to miss her desperately. It is so hard to find someone who takes pride in doing a job well. She was an incredible support last spring when I was undergoing cancer treatment. I was able to trust that jobs were being don...e correctly and that the dogs were safe and happy under her care. As I travelled through radiation the girls took the lion's share of raising the puppies allowing me the luxury of doing very little physical work while focusing more on socializing the pups, book work and customer care. So, dear friends, I am in desperate need of finding a replacement. You see, her note came one day too late. We bred Lu last night! If I had known, we might have just skipped this heat. However, there is no turning back. If you are a person who loves dogs.is a trustworthy, hardworking individual who has enough computer skills to take pictures from phone and load them on my website, can handle a physical job requiring attention to detail, and commit to Monday to Friday 8 or 8:30- 1 or 1:30 for 5 or 6 weeks, please contact me at [email protected] or pm me here. We live about 20 mins west of St. Thomas and less than a half an hour southwest of London (Wellington St).

Tess has found her forever home. She is going to a wonderful family where she will be treasured and loved. While I am so happy for her, I am sitting here bawling. I just can't think about her leaving me. She has been nothing but a joy to have. Always eager for cuddles, always obedient, loves to play catch, welcomed Lu and Meisha into the family without any hesitation she has been such a great dog. She produced some really great puppies for us, so even though it is breaking my heart, I am going to give her a wonderful family to spend her days with. They live in St. Thomas, so I am hoping they will bring her back out here for walks.

Country House Doodles 16.03.2020

Do you like dogs? Are you a fastidious individual who delights in cleaning, scouring, walking dogs, poop scooping and oh, yes, playing and cuddling puppies? We are looking for individuals who would commit to working with us 5 days a week. Hours can be somewhat flexible. 8- 1:00, 3-5:30. We also need individuals who would work the weekend shifts. Sunday shift begins at 6:30 a.m. to ensure we can get off to church on time. If you would be interested in this short term work (at the most 8 weeks) please pm me. Pups would probably be going to their new homes late May beginning of June. You need to have access to a car as we live in the country.

Country House Doodles 05.03.2020

I've had so many inquiries about Tess. I can hardly write these words because she is such a wonderful girl and it breaks my heart to give her up. Tess comes from some of the best kennels in Europe and cost over $12,000. She is fully health tested including yearly eye certifications. I am not giving her away. She will cost $2,000.00. I am not looking for a farm family, though if one should apply, that would be great, but I am looking for a family with a big fenced backyard an...d a place where she could walk off leash. I am looking for a family who would love and cherish her the way we have. Tess is 5 years old. You can see pictures of her on our website: www.countryhousedoodles.com by clicking on the tab: Our Dogs. If you are seriously interested, please complete a puppy application form found under the tab Our Puppies. I realize she is not a pup but this form will give me the necessary information to make a good decision on her future. If you would like a beautiful standard poodle and have a fenced backyard, Sam is available. He is two years of age, full of fun and has lots of love to offer. Please pm me or send an application.

Country House Doodles 28.02.2020

Well, the girls have come in heat! Now is the time to sign up for one of our beautiful puppies. We are retiring Tess which means I will have to give her up. She has been such a joy to us. Always comes when called and so eager to please. It will totally break my heart to give her up. Tess needs a gentle home with a big back yard. If you are interested in adding a wonderful Golden Retriever to your family pm me please.

Country House Doodles 19.02.2020

Sometimes our walks with the dogs don't go the way we would like them to go. Working with Golden Retrievers means you have to accept that they have the hunting drive. Usually fetching balls satisfies their need to fetch, run, and play, but tonight was one of those nights when that was not enough. Dave kindly started chores around 3:30. Out he went with the girls and Sam. Sam ran off to the barn to check on the possibility that a cat might be seeking refuge in the barn, and t...Continue reading

2018 is now history and 2019 lies ahead of us full of possibilities. While we, as a family, faced some tough challenges this past year, we are thankful for the victories, for the strength given when needed, for the unexpected joys and the realization that we have much to be thankful for. We had the privilege of providing adorable puppies for just the perfect families this past year. The job is exhausting but oh, so rewarding when we see the joy and excitement the pups bring t...o their new families. We flew off to N. Carolina for a few days to visit our middle daughter and her family. Our youngest daughter, husband and wee Eva went with us. What a fabulous time we had! We left the dogs with our assistants who took such good care of them. I am always humbled by the dogs' response when I walk into the kennel after being away. They are so excited to see me! They actually wrap their legs around me and cuddle up. Off they race to go outside, but they can't quite make it out the door because they have to come back for more hugs and kisses. When we head outside they line up in anticipation for me to throw the first ball. Lu races off to catch the ball and then runs back groaning in delight. They are a lot of work, but oh, dear, they are so precious! We wish all of our friends a New Year full of wonderful adventures, delightful surprises and precious family time. At Country House Doodles we take this time to count our blessings and thank the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness. May each of you be blessed this coming year.

Country House Doodles 20.01.2020

To all our wonderful families who have opened their homes and hearts to include one of our precious puppies, to all those who wish they could have included one of our pups in their homes, and to all you faithful followers of our posts, we wish you a very blessed Christmas. As we slow down to celebrate the birth of the baby in the manger we wish you all God's best this Christmas and the year to come.

Country House Doodles 07.01.2020

There was a time when we thought we would breed second generation doodles. To move in that direction we kept back two female pups, placed them in guardian homes and bought a young, male poodle pup. As Sam grew older we realized that his size was not in line with our breeding objectives. We are looking for a warm family environment preferably in the country or with a family who have immediate access to a place where Sam could run. City life in the middle of Toronto is not suit...able for Sammy. Sam is a sweet boy with a gentle heart. He loves children and is very gentle with them. He loves other dogs but is not good with cats. He is fully health tested clear, is up to date on his shots and is 2 years of age. He is house trained and walks on a leash. He loves to run and play ball but he is not so good at returning the ball to you. :) He still has the heart of a puppy which helps to make him so endearing. We are selling Sam for $2,500. If you are interested in a fellow who will return your love and accept all the cuddles you can give him, please contact us at housedoodles.com.

2 year old playing with 16 week old puppy.

Country House Doodles 17.12.2019

Eva and Oscar playing together. Please excuse my creepy voice...I came down with that horrible cold virus.

Country House Doodles 13.12.2019

It was a bitter sweet day today. Oscar found his forever family and said goodbye to us. Of course I cried. He was such a sweet boy; we will miss his enthusiastic outlook on life and the cuddles at night, but I am so happy he was snatched up by such a lovely family who will spoil him and love him and take such good care of him. It is always so painful to say goodbye even when I know the pups have found such fabulous families to love them. Now to get some rest....oh, did you s...ay Christmas is coming? Hmm, I better kick it into high gear and get some shopping done! What a puppy season this has been. Diagnosed with cancer, surgery, radiation, wicked awful harvest season for corn, and I have spent the last week coughing up my lungs. I really feel the need for some down time! To all of my wonderful puppy families, thank you for bringing a Country House Doodle puppy into your lives and loving them. I treasure each one of you.

Country House Doodles 25.11.2019

You have been asking for pictures of Oscar...here they are. Please remember, I am no photographer. The blanket was placed on the floor to try to get a proper representation of Oscar's colour. My handsome boy is ready for his new forever home. He's had all of his vaccinations and 3 vet checks, is microchipped, knows his sit and down commands, walks on a leash and is crate/house trained. Contact us at [email protected]

Country House Doodles 06.11.2019

Mr. Oscar is still patiently waiting for his forever family to come and take him home. He is living in the house with us and is such a perfect guest. He is loves his crate and leaves his room perfectly clean. He can play indoors without making a mess for over an hour and then we head outside where he plays like a mad man. He loves picking up sticks and dragging them around and if I allow him some play time with Otis, Oscar is over the moon excited! Bring him back inside and w...hat a good boy he is. He settles right back down and is a perfect gentleman. I love this puppy. He is just about perfect. I'm going to go shopping to get him a Christmas outfit. I think he would look so good in a hat with a fluffy white trim. Oscar had a visitor last week, someone who has suffered a great loss. This person came with her sister. The two of them sat on the floor and while Oscar was wonderful sweet and polite to both women, he instinctively gravitated to the one carrying a broken heart. Oscar picked up on that and sat in her lap kissing her face. He lay down in front of her offering up his belly for rubs and finally sat as close to her as possible. I was amazed again at the level of emotional sensitivity these puppies demonstrate. They have this innate ability to minister to the needs of the humans around them. Oscar has been generously blessed with this gift which he shares so willingly with the hurting. I love this pup's sweet nature. He will bring joy and happiness to the family who claim this pup. If you are interested in making Oscar a part of your family, please contact me at [email protected] and we will arrange a visit for you to meet our wonderful, perfect, Mr. Oscar.

Country House Doodles 25.10.2019

It is with mixed emotions I write that our precious Milo left with his new family today. What a lucky wee fellow. His new parents are wonderful; they already love him to bits! They feel so blessed to have him and me...well, I am thankful he found such a perfect family, but he was such an easy baby to love. Smart, trained, and so affectionate...we are going to miss him. Otis has also found just the perfect family for him. He was chosen Saturday afternoon. One of the members of... his new family is a young university student who had an immediate love attraction with Otis. I was not surprised when they contacted me to say Otis was their choice. He will bring them so much joy and they will wrap him in love. Otis leaves Dec. 8th. Oscar is still waiting for his forever family. If you want a funny, affectionate, energetic little guy, you won't go wrong in choosing Oscar! Drop us a note at [email protected].

Just a glimpse into my life as a breeder. For those of you who say that you would love to play with puppies all day, sorry if this bursts your bubble. I started chores at 3:30. It was cold and beginning to sprinkle some snowflakes as I entered the kennel. I let the pups out for a bathroom break. As they did their business and wrestled each other, I stood shivering in the cold wind. When I could no longer stand it, I let the rascals in and fed them. While the pups ate, I relea...Continue reading

Country House Doodles 07.10.2019

Living on a farm has so many advantages. We have our own nature preserve behind our home where bunnies, turkeys, deer, coyotes and various birds nest or visit. Yes, it's full of corn right now but the beans are off so we can view the field with the small woods on it. We have our own private trail to the back of the woods where we can stroll through the trees, balance on logs crossing the stream, scare up some turkeys and startle the deer. It is such a privilege to take the AT...V down the lane and watch the dogs wander the grass waterway as they "hunt" mice. However, this time of year can be a nightmare! The fields are wet and muddy, the laneways are wet and muddy, there are piles of spilled corn and beans in various places...so many places it has become difficult to know where to walk the pups. Dogs have a magnetic pull to spilled grain, especially if it is rotting. First True experienced an upset stomach from eating what he shouldn't have. $140.00 in vet bills later and he is feeling better, but then it was Sam's turn. I borrowed from True's medicine stash and slowly Sam felt better; now it's Maisie's turn. I caught her feasting over by the bins, but it was too late; the damage was done. She spent all day and night throwing up. She feels so guilty and sick I felt terrible for her, so I gave her the last of True's pills. True feels badly for her too, so he has opted to stay with her in the backroom. Hopefully she will feel better soon and leave the grain alone! The pups are eating the beans that were dropped in the field. They haven't spoiled...yet, but pups are not meant to eat grain so their crate training is getting pretty tricky. I am letting them out far more often than normal, but I am not getting up in the middle of the night to go over to the kennel to let them out, so...dirty kennels meet us in the morning. I wish sometimes we lived where there were sidewalks and parks where grain is not easily gobbled up! Many folks exclaim how wonderful it must be to live on a farm, and they are right, until mud season is combined with harvest. Then living on a farm is less than wonderful and more like dirty, messy, frustrating, stomach churning and difficult. Sigh. Let the harvest be over, everything freeze and yes, I am wishing for a white Christmas, but not until the harvest is completed. :) If you are looking to add a puppy to your home for Christmas, why not consider one of our three beautiful, well loved boys who are available and looking for their forever homes. We have put a lot of time into training them so part of your job is already done! Send us an email and reserve your pup today. [email protected] Pictures as follows: Mil, Oscar, Otis

There are some things I am relatively good at, but photography is just not one of my gifts! Tried taking pictures of Milo and Oscar today. First of all, they had been outside in the snow, so they were wet and secondly, well, I just don't have the knack. The beautiful colour of their coats did not come through. Oscar is a lovely red and Milo is a gorgeous cream. First two pictures are Milo while the last two are of Oscar. These boys have been practising their basic commands a...nd are being crate trained which they are doing so well with. It's very hard to train both at the same time because when they go out for their walks, they play hard! Today, I took Milo out on his own and left Oscar in the big outside pen. What a cry baby! The next thing I knew our hired man was shouting something about the puppy. I came running to find he had thrust his head between the gate and the post and was stuck. That was not a success needless to say, so the two were back outside together having the time of their lives. We are patiently waiting for the right families to come along and claim these adorable pups. They are so affectionate, smart and obedient. A Blog from Oscar Oh, my goodness, today was the worst day of my life! I should have guessed it was coming. I mean, like it had been happening all month. First one and then another disappeared. I dont know where they went. Strangers would walk in, sit down in our playroom and let us climb all over them. They would pet our heads and rub our bellies and moan over how cute we were until one by one we were put back in our room. It wasnt until all was quiet in the kennel again ...Continue reading
