Do you allow hunters on your land? Whichever side you fall on, researchers at @albertaconservationassociation want to know more about your land, access requests..., and the factors that influence your final decision. After all, the relationship between landowners and hunters is essential to conservation in Alberta. The short survey is available online until Feb 16. Information collected will help provide practical steps to improve the situation for both hunters and landowners, by revealing real insights into their dynamic. If you’re a landowner, fill out the survey right here: www.albertahunteraccess.com See more

Did you know the County of Minburn has a water transmission pipeline that supplies quality potable water to its residents? The County is a shareholder of Alberta Central East (ACE) Water Corporation, a municipally controlled corporation, that oversees a water transmission pipeline that provides water to 12 shareholder municipalities. Water on the west side of the region (i.e. Counties of Minburn and Two Hills) is piped from the City of Edmonton, while the water on the east si...de (i.e. the Villages of Kitscoty and Marwayne) is piped from the City of Lloydminster. In the County of Minburn, ACE Water services the hamlet of Lavoy, several rural residences, and 3 rural truck fills near the hamlets of Lavoy, Ranfurly, and Minburn. In 2020, ACE Water received confirmation of funding from the provincial and federal governments to finish the final phases of the project. When finished, the system will provide potable water to approximately 22,599 residents and measure 350kms in length, at a cost of approximately $140 million. The majority of the cost (90%) was borne by the federal and provincial governments as part of the Water For Life program. The ACE Water line will be complete in 2022 when services are brought to the communities of Paradise Valley, Dewberry, Clandonald, Derwent and Duvernay. The County of Minburn is proud to be a partner in this project that provides immense benefit to our rural region.

Winter Road Closures The County maintains over 2,000 kms of road allowances. However, there are many that remain closed during the winter months, largely because they do not have residences on them and are not significant thoroughfares. Keeping some roads closed in winter also saves on labor and equipment costs and helps preserve the gravel on the road surfaces....
