starting to feel the term training is being used too loosely in Newfoundland. Training seems to describe ANY type of basketball session. And we are just as guilty of using it. - BUT if you walked into a CCB session it would look and feel nothing like team practice. In place of traditional drills youd see methods being used to enhance the skills found within those drills. With outcomes focused on helpIng athletes gain a deeper understanding of the smallest details and physical characteristics that will contribute to their success. - Training is too vague a term to describe skill development and skill enhancement work being done at CCB. And its up to us to start better defining what it is we do
name some skills you see in this stack ... drop them in the comments
my guy @miguelbunleon with the active hands - and I would say we were in that @joshuavillarreal_1 .. but that second ball just got in the way
CCB is all about diving into the details hidden beneath the surface that will enhance a players individual skill set. - We use unique methods, innovative training tools & video analysis. Taking an outside the box approach to skill development. And we have devoted the last 10+ years to learning our craft. - Sure, from the outside looking in the techniques might still be misunderstood. But for now, the growth of CCB athletes will have to be our explanation ... cause we too b...usy building. - #onlythebeginning See more
Who can tell me the different between these two stops to pull-up - Both are quick 1-2s but very different when broken down. - And this is the level of detail we must build into workouts.
what was more impressive? - the pause moment and drop before the tennis ball grab? - ... OR ...... - that my mans made that finish with the hand that was holding the tennis ball See more

What a summer it has been for skills. Regardless of the pandemic & lack of gym time we found a way to keep training. - Like to thank all the athletes who trusted me with their skill enhancement this summer. Without you, doing something I love & finding some normalcy through the times wouldnt have been possible. - Have some things up my sleeve for fall training regardless of the majority of gyms remaining closed. Stay tuned for more details. ... - In the meantime reach out if youre looking to get in some work. While the weather permits we can stay ready See more
What type of finish is this; dribble step, first step or second step? - When finishing if you think there is a right and a wrong foot to jump off youre limiting ability. - @victoriastrickland13 footwork scary lately

Drop Cross (motion steps) + Punch Evasion - The timing and footwork allows for the set up of a first step, euro or veer finish - Must have options against a sagging big in sideline PnR OR help defender stepping up.
My guy from Gander reached out to get that work. - Its easy to tell who wants it ... they the ones consistently writing, even going out of their way to organize workouts. - In town to end the summer? All you gotta do is hit us up!
If you look at this and think, there are no med balls in the game ... youve missed everything.
Players often struggle aggressively pulling the basketball to pocket during a drop. This is a simple but effective way to isolate that action - Remember your hand reaches to connect with the basketball with hand on top ( palm facing the floor ). - @cameron.stanford helping me show this one
