Courtenay Little Theatre 14.11.2020

Courtenay Little Theatre and the Sid Williams Theatre are proud and excited to announce a co-production of a staged reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, just in time for the winter holidays! The pre-recorded hour long production will be aired online between Dec 24, 2020- Jan 1, 2021, and will be FREE to audiences. A CLT company of 7 actors will portray over 25 characters from this well known and much loved tale, adapted from Dickens' original text by director Cather...ine Hannon. Produced by Shari Jakubiec, the reading features the work of actors Wes Buckle, Andria Young, Larry Stevens, Jeannine Taylor, Jon Faris, Shannon Skender and Chris Taylor. Gail Limber will costume the actors, Lynn Hodge will be playing Christmas Carols, Terry Penney creating sound effects, and the Sid Williams production team will be doing lighting, recorded sound and camera work. AUDITIONS FOR A STAGED READING OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL!!! CLT and The Sid Williams Theatre will be co-presenting a staged reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol abridged and directed by Catherine Hannon and produced by Shari Jakubiec. WE ARE LOOKING FOR 6 M/F ACTORS, ALL AGES, TO PLAY MULTIPLE ROLES and 1 MALE ACTOR, 50+ to play Scrooge.... We will be auditioning over Zoom, Friday Oct 30, 6.30-8 and Saturday Oct 31, 1-3. There will be 1 weeknight and 1 weekend rehearsal for the month of November, online using Zoom. (Wednesday or Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoon.) There will be in person 3 hour rehearsals at the CLT space Nov 21, 22 plus one 4 hour in person rehearsal and one 4 hour in person recording session at the Sid Williams Theatre, between Nov 23-26. All Covid safety protocols will be strictly observed at both CLT’s space and at the Sid. The staged reading performance will be recorded for camera (no live audience) at the Sid Williams Theatre and be released on CLT’s and Sid Williams Theatre’s websites on Christmas Eve. The performance will be 1 hour in length, and will be an abridged version of the novel. Roles will be rehearsed and performed using a script no memory work. No English accents (unless that is your native accent). Yes! There will be costumes and music! Courtenay Little Theatre Virtual AGM's are tonight (Tuesday September 15th) at 7:00pm We welcome all of our members to attend. ... If you did not receive the email please email Shari at [email protected] We will have two brief AGM's this year: As previously reported we have moved our year end to the end of June, effective June 30, 2020. (1) We will have a year end review for 2019 including financial report (January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019). (2) Followed immediately by a second AGM with more financial reports (January 1, 2020 - June 30, 2020). We will also hold our Election of our board members, anyone who would like to put their name forward as a board member for the next two years is welcome. It will be nice to see everyone!
