We are so excited to be celebrating our 10th Year of the Calgary Stampede's Cowboy Up Challenge this July with ten of the world's very best extreme cowboys and cowgirls! Join us in cheering on these amazing cowgirls and cowboys in their quest to take the top spot and be named our 2019 Cowboy Up Challenge Champion: Ariana Gray of Calgary, Alberta... Ashir Kol of Kibbutz Yifaat, Israel Annie Chance of Joplin, Missouri Kelsie Yates of Murfreesboro, Tennessee Steve Barrett of Wheatland, Indiana Chris Redden of Ravenwood, Missouri Lee Hart of Elizabethtown, Kentucky Runt Rageth of Harris, Missouri Leanne Hale of Tullohoma, Tennessee Josh Rushing of Hume, Missouri Our first round of competition is Monday, July 8th. The second round will be on Wednesday, July 10 and the sudden-death finals will be Thursday, July 11. All of our Cowboy Up Challenge rounds will be starting at 6:30 p.m. (MST) in the Nutrien Western Event Centre.

2019 Aggie Days Spring Extreme Cowboy Race Sunday, April 7, 2019 The Calgary Stampede is excited to be celebrating our 10th year of hosting our Spring Extreme Cowboy Race at Aggie Days.... This race is an ideal opportunity for our guests to experience the Extreme Cowboy style of racing by being a part of a large and loudly appreciative Aggie Days crowd in the Nutrien Western Event Center. The courses that our competitors will face will include some of the epic "Cowboy Up " obstacles that are used in our big Stampede event in July. On top of all that, for those cowboys and cowgirls who aspire to compete with the world's best, this spring race provides an opportunity to show off their very best horse and rider moves in the hopes of being considered as an invitee for a future Calgary Stampede Cowboy Up Challenge in July. To be clear, the Spring Extreme Cowboy Race at Aggie Days is NOT a qualifier for the Calgary Stampede Cowboy Up Challenge. Two competitive class options will be offered: Open - Primarily designed for EXCA Pro Riders and accomplished EXCA Non Pro and Senior Youth riders. Non Pro - Primarily designed to accommodate those that show in the Non Pro Division as well as accomplished riders in the EXCA Ride Smart, Senior Youth and Intermediate Divisions. Entries will be limited to 25 rides total. If an excess of entries occurs, both skill level and date of entry may be used to select the successful competitors. Early entry is encouraged. For those of you asking, the Cowboy Up Challenge will be held Saturday, July 8 through Monday, July 10 in the Scotiabank Saddledome on Stampede Park. The competition will start at 2:30 pm daily. There will also be a live feed (on UStream) of the event each day. We will post the link to the website by Thursday, July 6 at the very latest.

A unique Calgary Stampede western twist of Extreme Cowboy Racing fun has gone to the dogs in the Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday, July 7 at 1:30 p.m. Come watch the excitement as ten of the world's best Extreme Cowboy horses and riders join forces with amazing pooch partners, and together they will tackle a demanding obstacle course while showing off their speed and skills in a team relay race! May the best Calgary Stampede's Cowboy Up Challenge dog and pony team win!!!

The 2017 edition of the Calgary Stampede Cowboy Up Challenge is quickly approaching! We put a Go Pro on Runt Rageth during the Cowboy Up Shootout on Friday. Unfortunately, due to copyright issues, we had to erase the musical enhancements, but it does give you a little bit of a look of what's happening on course! Enjoy!!! We'll try and get more video like this for you!

It takes some time and manpower to change the Scotiabank Saddledome over from the Flames home ice to a venue to showcase our equine athletes. If only it were this fast!
