Hello Breaker families. There is a new BCSSA face mask policy. All swimmers must wear a mask or face covering when they are on deck in the cowichan aquatic centre. Please send your swimmer with a mask to practice. Thank you so much for your cooperation.

Hi Everyone, The Fall Swim Session started this week and it was wonderful to see the happy faces of the swimmers as they finally got back into the pool. We wanted everyone to know that we opened up a new group for the Junior Development swimmers on Thursdays at 4:20-5:20 pm.... Hello swim families! We have finally been given the go ahead to start Fall Registration! Things will look very different for a while but we are all very excited to be back into the pool. Please note all swimmers will be screened before they enter the pool. A waiver will come out after you have signed up and this will have to be returned before the swimmer can go on deck.... Swimmers must arrive changed and ready to swim. We will have no access to a change room at this point. No parents or guardians will be allowed on the pool deck. And drop off and pick up will be at the back door(we have our own door to enter and exit the pool). I will be monitoring the numbers in the lanes and closing some sessions as they fill up. So don't wait too long to register your children if you are interested. Feel free to email me any questions. I wanted to let you know that there has been a HUGE demand for these with our supplier and stocks are very low. If you had thought you might like one for the winter season do pls have a look at their site asap - there are some Royal Youth in Large and XL - the Adult sizes and colour selections are very small. Hello Breaker Families, I hope everyone has had a restful summer despite all of the challenges that Covid-19 has thrown at us. We wanted to give everyone an update on what is happening with the CV Breakers Swim Team. As of right now the Cowichan Aquatic Centre is still undergoing renovations and there is still no open date for the pool. Decisions about whether the pool will open will not be made until mid September. We are being told if it does open, that date will not be ...before Thanksgiving weekend. Once we know more information we will update everyone. We know many are very anxious to get their swimmers back into the pool. However things are going to look very different when we eventually get the go ahead to return. At this point we do not anticipate being able to run our Pre-Breakers program. So that means all swimmers will need to be able to swim a minimum of 25 m unassisted in the competition pool. Parents will not be able to enter the Aquatic Centre and must remain outside the front doors or in their vehicles during practice. In order to aid us in making a plan for the future we are asking all those who hope to enroll their swimmers in the fall session to please email the Registrar, Laura Hagen. [email protected] We are hoping to have a rough idea of the number of swimmers we will have so we can figure out lane space in order to keep swimmers distanced and safe in the pool.
