Season update from Cowork - https://mailchi.mp/a402c7c9570a/season-update-from-cowork
As the longest-running coworking space in the South Okanagan, we are thrilled to see the growth in number of spaces in the region as displayed in this Accelerate Okanagan report. It was a very different landscape in 2012, when we opened our doors. This growth speaks to the demand, to the value of differentiation and acknowledges that one space is not like the other. Together we offer a wide variety of options for a diverse number of people. How we work is just as important as where we work and alongside whom.
Thanks to iNFOnews Penticton for inviting us to speak on our observations of remote work in 2020. This year, which presented so many unprecedented changes and restrictions, has also catalyzed a conversation about the future of work for so many. There will never be one solution that suits all, and this year certainly gave many companies and employees a chance to try a new model. For some it worked, for others it didn't - but sometimes you don't know that until you try. As we head into 2021, we encourage you to consider what makes a fullsome life for you (or your team) that recognizes individual work styles and supports healthy life outside of work!

Bike riding folk - your letters to council are needed. Why is it important to support the lake-to-lake route? Send an email to [email protected] and [email protected] (before Monday November 16th) to let them know why a separated bike route would be an all-round benefit. Bike lanes are great. They give protected, safe routes for cyclists. They return the sidewalks to pedestrians. They don't require big parking spaces. And cyclists are good customers. A study by... Toronto Cycling Think & Do Tank looks at the positive impacts of cycling economies - specifically bike lanes. They conclude: "Evidence suggests bike lanes are beneficial to urban businesses and communities. Cyclists tend to be more reliable customers than drivers, spend larger amounts of money per capita per month, and are easily attracted with appropriate infrastructure. As a larger share of trips in North American cities are made by bicycle, businesses should seize the opportunity and support investment in cycling infrastructure to increase competitiveness." https://www.torontocycling.org//cycling_economies_eglinton See more
Quick Note, please wear a mask. - https://mailchi.mp/92a33e4d34/quick-note-please-wear-a-mask We’re all healthy people. We all get colds etc. We’re still healthy people. We don’t want to contribute to the spread of COVID-19. ... Spreading some other bug that weakens another’s system is just as bad. Please, wear a mask, it helps. See more
