Many people find the ocean awe-inspiring. But should we not also be in awe of the Lord, who created the oceans and the shorelines that bound it?

The word hesed means covenantal loyalty, kindness, goodness and love. It is one of two great theological foundations of this whole story. In announcing the Lord’s hesed in Ruth 1:8, Naomi points us to the truth of Jesus Christ. In Him, we experience God’s ultimate kindness to us. One that never fails, no matter what we are facing.
