The Cambridge PC Nomination Meeting is taking place on April 14th, 2018. The doors of the Armenian open at 11:00 am, with speeches at 11:30, and voting to place after the speeches until 3:00 pm. Please leave lots of time to get to the Armenian Centre in case of bad weather. Until further notice, we plan to carry on with the meeting. Also, remember to bring proper identification. You will be asked to show proper ID. Failure to do so may result in you not being able to cast a vote.

Statement by Rob Leone on the Cancellation of the Cambridge Nomination Yesterday morning, I was notified that the Cambridge Nomination, that was re-scheduled for March 24th, has been cancelled. The notice came in a brief e-mail and without an explanation. Understandably, our candidates and members are frustrated by yet another delay. Members of our riding association Board share those concerns. Back in January, our Association proposed a date of March 24th for the resc...heduling of the Cambridge nomination meeting from last fall. This was proposed prior to the leadership campaign commencing. There was some question as to whether the leadership race may impact our proposed date, however, the party decided to accept it anyway. The best explanation we have at this point in time is that our leader, Doug Ford, promised to review party nominations during the leadership process. Party nominations have been paused or re-opened in many ridings across the province. Given that our nomination meeting in Cambridge was scheduled just two weeks after the leadership race, there seems to be a desire to provide the new leader with some breathing room to get a handle on the nomination process. We do not have any more news to share as to why this nomination was cancelled or when it will be rescheduled. Members of the local Cambridge PC Riding Association will continue to advocate on behalf of our members and ensure that our eventual candidate will be well positioned to take Cambridge and North Dumfries back during the June election.
