Mar 5 - Route 467 (Sandra McLeod) Cancelled Please make arrangements to drop off and pick up your children. Classes will still be in session. If your child will be absent due to the bus cancellation or for any other reason, please notify the school to make arrangements for alternate programming. Due to a shortage of bus drivers and spares, compounded by COVID-19 self isolation requirements, we are having issues finding drivers for some routes. If you know of anyone intereste...d in completing the training necessary to become a bus driver, please contact our transportation department. Hello wonderful students, I hope you are adjusting well to at-home learning. I am here if you need anything. Are you interested in attending the University of Alberta? Tomorrow we have arranged a Zoom session on the Transition Year Program (TYP). The TYP is a University access program for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students who may not be prepared to enter a faculty through the regular admissions route. This is not an upgrading program, but a full-time University of Alb...erta program in Open Studies. The objective of the program is to prepare First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students for admission into one of the following nine faculties: Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences (BSC) Arts (BA) Business (BCom) Education - Elementary or Secondary Route (BEd) Engineering (BSC) Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation (BKin) or (BARST) Native Studies (NA NS) Nursing (BScN) Science (BSC) The Zoom link is here, for tomorrow, Dec. 2 @ 10:30 am *****CHECK YOUR STUDENT EMAIL FOR THE ZOOM LINK***** Angela James (your principal!) went through the TYP at the U of A at the age of 19 years old. She graduated from the U of A a few years later with a Bachelor of Education. The program was a great way to meet other people from similar backgrounds and small towns. It helped her gain a sense of community in the city of Edmonton while attending post-secondary. This program sounds very exciting and I hope to see you all there tomorrow at 10:30 am! Sincerely, Megan Ryll Math and Science Teacher Career Pathways School C: 780-773-9136
