We are still not able to hold General Meetings and Elections. Here is a list of your current sitting Executive until such time as we are able to hold an election. President: Edith LeClair 1st Vice President: Colleen Shaw 2nd Vice President: Frank Putnam Executive members... Randy Bray Joyce Bull Clive Brown Bev Sansom Past President: Mike Landry We thank these members for agreeing to fill the positions as we navigate some very difficult times.
In observance of Family Day, Monday, February 15th, our lounge and office will be closed.
And the winners are...... Congratulations to Tom McDougall, Heidi Radcliffe, Colleen Shaw, Colleen Tarzwell, and Wendy Thom!!! Thank you for your continued support! These are the winners of the Early Bird Draw for the 2022 Memberships that entered prior to November 30th, 2020 by purchasing their 2021 Memberships. We normally would have drawn names for the Early Bird Membership Draw at our Honours and Awards Ceremony, however due to Provincial Protocol we have had to postpone the ceremonies to a later date. Instead, Executives pulled names of the members who will receive their 2022 Membership paid by the branch. Again, congratulations!
Renew your membership today! We need you. Per our Membership Report...our renewals are down dramatically. In 2010 are membership stood over 700 members. The numbers have dropped annually to the point that in 2020 we have under 500 members. As of February 1st, Branch 24 has 326 members renewed for 2021. That is less than half our 2010 membership. We have a few options for you to pay for your $55 membership dues: 1) Mail: cheque or money order to Royal Canadian Legion, B...ranch #24, 803 Cranbrook St N, Cranbrook, BC. A message from President Edith and Bar Chair Clive: We had a request to open last Sunday because There is no other places open for a drink, so we tried it again. We said at that time that it was a trial to see if we could justify the cost. We did not come close to covering the costs of opening. Sadly of the other 6 days that we are currently open, most are barely making enough to cover wages and the cost of the products we are selling, we also have other bills to pay. We... have to do all we can to spend what money we do have wisely. The issue of Sunday openings has been discussed and tried many times over the years and there is insurmountable evidence that it is not economically feasible to open on Sundays. There will be no more Sunday openings. We appreciate your understanding . See more
We have had a request to open the lounge on Sundays. We will open this Sunday, January 10th from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Opening on Sundays is on a trial basis. If we do not make enough to cover the costs, we will not be able to continue to open on Sundays. Thank you for your support.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #24 would like to offer our condolences to Mr. Sam’s family and friends.
