Mom’s dark fruitcakes were done yesterday (phone down for pics). Today was light fruitcakes, also Mom’s recipe. The smell in the house was Devine ....lemon, almond and vanilla extracts!

Cranberry and Pecan loaves. Going through a lot of my Mom’s handwritten recipes this year. Doubling some. Working on a Cook Book of them! So many have her friends’ name on them, where she received them. Most are gone now, but their recipes (from Cape Breton) live on.

Did you know? You can boil, peel beets, cube, freeze on a tray and then package, freeze and then use them for oven roasted beets all winter? We still have beets available for free. Hate to see the frost and snow kill them. Just come and pull them from the ground. Same for kale and Swiss Chard. I also freeze them for soups amd stews. PM or call me. N

Due to COVID-19, this event is strictly outdoors. Enjoy some Christmas music and hot chocolate as we come together to celebrate the beginning of the 2020 Holiday Season.
