Kawasaki KLR 650 A tried and true survivor... Kawi has made few changes to this model of bike. Likely because they are very reliable and like to work. This one is a "New to him" bike that came as a new purchase that needed a safety inspection. As you can see this thing is in great condition and had no issues. ... This man is ready to roll for when the weather turns for us. Enjoy man.
NO BRAKES! Cruiser bikes are often riden like cars for the rear brake. Using the pedal like a car. 75% of the brake force comes from the front wheel. ... Using mostly or only the rear brake with demo the life of the parts but also not work near as effective when used by itself. Being able to stop your bike daily or in an emergency is very important. Take a look at your brakes, inspect the rest.... Give it a good once over or bring it on in to have us do it. The owner of this bike did just that... "make sure it's safe" If you can catch your low pads before they grind the brake rotor then you can save that money easy. Spring is getting soooooo close! Give your bike a check up.
Today we are going back to the exhaust and working on machining some mounting brackets and doing a little custom modifications to some factory parts... It's great to build a lot of "custom" parts; But sometimes taking the factory components and doing some modifying can add some great details and change the look of them greatly, as you will see in some of the pictures below. We looked at the factory mounting bracket and thought... What could we do to change the "look" of it bu...t still use it with our new machined exhaust mounts? You will see below that by drilling the bracket out we feel ties in wicked with the exposed baffle ends for the exhaust.. Sometimes keeping it simple and changing just a couple of things makes for a great finished product...
Loud pipes save lives..... Continuing with the exhaust topic ; In this post we took the pipes and did some cutting and adding so that our finished product would all line up evenly at the ends.. We then went to our go to used parts supplier (NCK Cycle Salvage, Woodstock) And decided on these baffles. We have an idea that should look super wicked. We exposed the baffles as you will see in the pictures below. We wanted a different look to our pipes and WOW i think we achieving... the look we were after! They are still not done, We have more to do and more to come with just the exhaust topic.. Looks are important but so is the function and performance. Super excited to see our vision of this exhaust coming together! We now have extended the pipes and welded on the baffles for a completely different look. ( of course there is baffles officer, you can see them from here!) custom mounts being made as we speak and we will update you very soon...
A little covid bobber update.... we actually have a few things going on at the same time with it. Trying to figure out what to post without giving other things away in the pics. lol This one was about the exhaust... get that exhaust off of there... These cobra short shots were extra loud! turns out someone removed some of the pipe behind the shields.. ... step A for the bobber exhaust is to rip the shields off... get both pipes to the same length for the next part. In addition to that... The robot that welds the flange to the pipe makes very nice looking welds... However... a bit much. Time to die grind them down some to get better flow... The next part of the exhaust is coming soon! Cool ideas in my mush melon.

Someone asked if we take pics and post every bike we do. The answer is simple. I try to! Every client, every bike, every project is important to us. We appreciate our clients / friends. Some of the jobs may not be full motor rebuilds or a ton of accessories added but are all treated the same. They are all important jobs that pride and workmanship goes into. ... Here are a few of the ones that I havn't had a chance to put up. You'll notice we work on a wide variety of motorcycles. We thank everyone for your support. Without YOU.... There is no US! Thank you for trusting us with your pride and joy. We treat it as that.
