When visiting Grandma's we watch squirrels. How does your dog react to your wildlife friends ?

Bad video. This hole social media thing is not my strong suite. I am working on getting my crap together so my videos will turn out better. In the mean time this gives you a taste of what my 8 month old Dobie life looks like. But with fun games little Miss always goes to her kennel and politely waits for her food. Please note my dog doesn't not get fed from a bowl. Her food is always in a Kong or fed from my hand. ... I do this so my dog: 1 she knows my smell and will allow me in her food/toy/treat/bone any time I wish. 2 she never gets anything for free. She is always working and waiting for permission from us. This also allows for choice based learning. 3. It's mental stimulation which you can't have a tired dog without both physical and mental stimulation. No yelling to "punishment" but a choice. If she isn't making the right choice it takes longer for her to get her food. Or attention. Training is not a one a done. It's a commitment for the rest of the dogs life. Why not make it fun? Enjoyable for all.

Sometimes it's just worth stopping a moment to appreciate your company. Commands used: Sit, Sit stay, Go Place, Hop up and random funny noises to regain attention without breaking her sit stay or Place. Most of you know but this is Montana, 7 months old today. She lives with three cats a basement dweller, an 10 year old, dad and mom. She came home with us at 6 weeks! i know, right way way too young... that's a horror story for another day. Montana was a nervous and timid ...little monster who loved to sleep in our laps. Living with a dog trainer mom I knew my work was starting from the moment she came through our doors. She is now my buddy who goes almost everywhere with me and will hop up and if the space allows she'll pop a seat, even on the ledge of our local bluffs off lake Ontario. Exposure and clear rules, with a lot of games and fun has allowed this beautiful girl to develop into a gorgeous confident adolescent. Please if you're struggling with unclear communication between you and your four legged friend reach out. All of our dogs have a story, let me help tell your dogs. Show me where you and the furkids go to relax and unwind.
