When I forgive someone, that does not mean I trust them. Trust has to be earned. I will have boundaries so they cannot hurt me again.

When I forgive someone, I do not forget about what they have done, but I stop trying to make them pay and I HURT LESS!!

God forgives our failures when we ask him, but if we don't forgive ourselves, we won't feel like we have received forgiveness and the guilt will continue.

We need to take responsibility for the things WE have done that cause us to feel guilt, ask God to forgive us and forgive ourselves.

No one can live with guilt. We all have drugs of choice we use to escape the pain, but they only work while we are doing them. Some use food, work, sex, people pleasing, etc. . What are you using?

Forgive yourself FIRST because of the guilt you carry in your heart.
