A message from Sandra Milligan, Greenways' President: It is with great sadness that I share news of the sudden passing of Greenways Land Trust Founding Directo...r Ron Burrell on Saturday, Oct. 24th. My deepest sympathies to Ron’s family, and a huge thank you to them for their support of Ron’s work. Ron was a Greenways Director from its creation in 1996, through 2013, and served as President from 2001-2005, 2008 and 2009. He was deeply involved in protection of Beaver Lodge Lands and was continually active in the Beaver Lodge Trust Committee since its creation in 1993. Just last Tuesday at our Beaver Lodge meeting, he was advocating strongly to protect stream habitat from an ill-placed ATV trail and agreed to be champion of a project to have bathrooms installed in Beaver Lodge. When I moved to town in 2003, his name was always in the paper, I thought: Wow that guy is getting stuff done with that Greenways organization. He has been a mentor ever since, though he probably didn’t know it. He inspired me, but he also kicked my ass and said we need to do something about that and so we tried, and we try, and now we will keep on trying, because he wouldn’t have stopped trying. For me, he’ll never be gone. I’ll still hear his voice pushing me forward to protect Nature that can’t protect itself. ~Sandra
Congratulations!!

As of October 27th, masks are required in both our Campbell River and Comox Valley ReStore for the safety and peace of mind of our volunteers, staff, and custom...ers. This requirement is based on the recommendation by B.C. Health officials that masks should be worn in all indoor public spaces. If you do not have a mask, we can provide one by donation. Our top priority is keeping our community safe and healthy. Thank you for your support!
