From tree to tableliterally. For many years, stood tall at the U of M @ Tache Hall, this massive Spruce Tree. Harvested & salvaged by @affordabletreeandstump it was slabbed & dried until it ended up in our hands @ccc_construction . We cut a 4’ piece off of the large 10’ long slab, flattened + surfaced them. We then installed Hairpin legs by @rustydesigncanada . Delivered just before Christmas to be stained/sealed by the customer. X-MAS TREES FOR A CAUSE update..... What started out as a Christmas project for friends & family quickly turned into many firsts for both of my kids...first time raising money for a charity, first business venture, first time using different tools, and what I found really cute, was when Summer said ‘Wow Dad! My 1st job!’ It was a lot of fun. The kids took their endeavour seriously & worked really hard at it. We had great conversation & many laughs while working away on the tr...ees. I’ve been proud of my kids numerous times. Watching them score a big goal is pretty awesome for sure but seeing them take something on like this as they did, take it seriously and be really excited about donating to a charityTHIS is definitely a very proud dad moment! There’s already chatter about what to take on next! Chase & Summer donated 25% of their proceeds to the Springfield Food Bank. Their donation amounted to $300! CCCo. chipped in another $200 for a total donation of $500. What a great feeling it is to help those in need! A big Thank You to everyone who purchased trees!
