That is how I feel about Katie. Our paths crossed in 2019 at a craft show and then again this past Christmas when she once again supported my small business. It wasn’t until this past week that I found out, in July 2020, she was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer which has now progressed to stage 4. ... It is absolutely heartbreaking. She is just 33 years old with 3 young children ... The treatment she requires is not covered by Saskatchewan Health and is $120,000 for only 10 treatments. Although there is already a GoFundMe page set up for her that has had incredible support, I also want to do what I can to make sure her family has minimal financial stress/worry during this time. 2020 is coming to a close and albeit it looked bleak at times, I have finished the year feeling so incredibly grateful. I truly missed the handmade markets and the connection with others but this also gave me the opportunity to focus on creating so many custom orders. 2020 has been a historic year. A crazy year. A difficult year. And an extremely stressful year. But it has also been a good year. A unique year. And a year full of blessings if you look hard enough.
