Business is tricky for many of us these days. We are fortunate that currently, we are still working under the circumstances brought about by COVID-19. We work ...remotely. As it stands now we are booking filming - but those shoots take place outside or in a large, empty space like a community hall. We use minimal crew who wear masks at shoots (of course!) and we are not using lapel mics. We use a boom mic on a pole that can distance us from clients up to 12 feet. We have invested in new camera lenses that also allow us to film from a distance with the utmost quality. Even with these protocols in place filming is not the best choice for every project these days. We have moved from filming an awards show - one person at a time in an empty theatre - to filming this awards show over Zoom. We have moved some video messaging to motion graphics. We continue to create marketing assets and run campaigns from our home offices. We just finished creating and scheduling Black Friday ads across all platforms for a client. These ads covered one day per week - not just Black Friday proper - to keep the numbers low in the store. With the unprecedented nature of the pandemic we can not predict what will happen next. We keep a careful eye on provincial and federal announcements, restrictions and orders. We continually revisit our safety protocols to make sure they are in line with those orders and we often go beyond the orders to ensure a safe working environment for our team and our clients. Stay safe everyone.

We are thrilled to be a featured business in Douglas magazine alongside our southern counterpart VIATEC to highlight our highly successful Digital Economy Rapid... Response and Resiliency program, DER3. Over 500 island businesses entered the program since April and through a joint effort, and our combined technology experience, have helped these businesses enter and expand into the digital economy. Whether through website development to include ecommerce or to expand their digital marketing strategy, we could not be more thrilled to see so many businesses not only succeeding but thriving in these trying times. Because of these success stories, the program has been extended until February 2021, so if your business is struggling or needs any kind of assistance to #getdigital submit your application today. Greater Victoria businesses can connect to the program through VIATEC here: https://www.viatec.ca/cpages/der3 Businesses from the Malahat north can connect through Innovation Island here: https://innovationisland.ca/der3/smb/ #der3 #getdigital #digitaleconomyresponseprogram #digitaleconomy #digital #digitize #digitalresources #godigital #business #supportlocalbusiness #islandstrong #inittogether #innovationisland #innovation #islandtech #vanisletech #bcaccelerator #techisland #bctech #bcbusiness #innovatebc #buildstaygrow #cdntesch #startups #vancouverislandtech #techisland #startup #tech #techstartup #technology #collaboration #startuplife #lovewhereyoulive #lovewhereyouwork #vancouverisland #islandentreprenuers #theresnoplacelikehome #entrepreneur #getstuffdone #digitalhelp #techislandlife #VIATEC #YYJTech #scaleup #bcbusiness #techevents #womenintech
