So honoured to be recognized by the Record's reader's choice awards this year. It is also great to see the profession of Occupational Therapy be included in these awards!

Today is World OT day with the theme of life reimagined!! The profession of OT is so diverse that it is difficult to sum up in simple statements. We believe in helping people find meaning in their lives through occupation and finding occupation through meaningful activities. Here is an example of work I did with a 16 year old boy with ASD. We were working on a variety of goals including fine motor, printing, problem solving, organization and collaboration with others. We did this while developing a 3 dimensional version of connect 4 using a 3-D printer. This took a number of sessions and the smile in the client's face was indicative of the success of the project!

Our amazing OT Patricia's enthusiam and creativity allows her to work with her clients on fine motor skills, emotional regulation, typing skills and improving pencil grip all while making it a fun experience for all involved!! #otmonth

Creative Therapy is excited to offer a virtual group Creative Connections that is designed to allow teenagers to connect with each other virtually. This group will focus on helping your teenager build social relationships while exploring emotional regulation themes through fun, social and interactive games. This group will be facilitated by Patricia Nguyen, whose positive energy is infectious!!! This 4 week group will be held on Mondays from 7:00 to 8:00 pm (November 23 to December 14) and be run on the Zoom platform. We will also have volunteers to help prompt and encourage your teenager to participate and understand the concepts that are being presented. The cost for this group is $120. Please note that we require a minimum of 4 participants to ensure a quality and fun program.
