Here is a fine example of an oil patch industry to add interest to the track side. These are working models.
Got the Herzog ballast hoppers painted. A start on my next project and painting a bunch of FREDs. Also got all the guts assembled and ready for assembly.
Just getting back to business. More custom FREDs ready for paint. Also finally got the potash decals on. And a sneak peek at a new item coming to the lineup. Trailer hitches and trailers are coming to our lineup.
Here is an updated post on the FREDs. They are cutom build as there are options. They are $130 USD shipped. Your choice of Yellow,Grey and Red. Add the dummy gladhand for an extra $5. If you also want a brighter light the old style bulb is also availabe. And for an extra $18 you can get a flag holder and flag. This helps if you forget about the FRED while backing up. We also built one with a bracket that attached to the end of a car.
Thank you to Danny Click for the video of the FRED.
A month has passed since the hobby lost a master. I never got to meet Scott Weatherford but i did build a few cars for him. He was in the process of ordering another tank car. He also encouraged me to build ACF hoppers. I started to build but but was busy with my other job during the summer and now he never got to see the final result. Rest in peace Scott.
Potash Corp car getting closer.
An updated version of our logo. This is more modern to reflect more of our work.
I might be away from the shop working but that is giving me some time to draw up items that are coming soon.
The BC rail 62' Skeleton log car is finally done and looking for a home.
Is there any interest in a 1.6" scale stock car?
We will be doing a run of Herzog ballast hoppers. . This car is 77" long. Also a hopper extension is available to haul more rock. This is an operational hopper with sloped bottom.
Starting to stack up the ballast hoppers. Someone is going to have a nice ballast train.
Another Pumpjack almost ready to head out.
A slow project as summer is concrete season. Plus working away from home means less time to work on train cars.
It has been confirmed we will be doing 2 more Yosemite Valley cars. The 105 and the 107. They will be added to the 330 we did a while back.
This project is finally wrapped up. Waited a long time for 3 replacement decals. Pretty bad when you send a picture of the car and show brown decals on the white ends. Then when the decals arrive they are white. A lot of 3D printed parts on this one.
Finally got the Ajax brake lever installed. This one is the customer is adding the deck. An instrument shed and finally got the green lights to complete the signals. Working on auto with 2 or more blocks clear light is green. With 1 clear it is amber and if none clear red. Also CTC where its red. And slowly working on my hood.
Besides a few misprinted decals the Tootsie roll Tank car is almost complete. The 12 ft flat car is done getting powder coated.
Dropped a car off to get powder coated and since it was raining finished the back of a locomotive.
Finally got my locomotive moved on to a movable stand. Going to have more room to work now. Plus a few progress pics of coming projects.
Have had some down time so took the time to work on the Block Detection system. Got a bunch of parts ordered and waiting. Check back soon to see the final product.
Just picked up some detail parts for my next project. Check back soon to see the complete car.
Finally finishing up these 2 cars.
Another Procor done.
Another Pumpjack complete and progress on a drop end Gondola. Also working on another Herzog Ballast hopper car.
The Herzog ballast hopper is complete. With spring around the corner this is a great car to help with track work. Check out the video on our page of the testing.
Getting close to complete with the Herzog ballast car.
We tried a few different ways to power the Pumpjack. Could not get it to run quiet so went back to belt. Well for now that is how they will stay as they run smooth.
